Ella Enchanted (DVD, 2004, Widescreen)

We rented this movie several times. For a Seven year old, it's a perfect choice- pretty sure this is meant for kids- sure it is corny, predictible, formulaic like most US movies in my opinion, but it was the most requested title my daughter has begged for this year and I'm so glad we finally bought it! I've seen some of it, and it has okay actors and scenes- Now she has jammed her DVD player somehow so she won't be watching it for a while... ah technical problems.

An ideal family oriented movie, the music are excellent and the story are pure fun. We travel a lot and this movie certainly entertain us all the way.

This is a great movie for young girls & Grandmothers. I had it on VHS and wanted it on DVD. I'm very glad I bought it

The movie wasn't new and didnt come in the original box but it was in perfect condition just as the seller promised. and cheap! exactly what I was looking for.

I decided to buy this movie because my daughter is into princesses and we could watch it together without alot of baby stuff.

I like this movie because again, I just had to have this in my collection of movies. I like the fact that it's a fairy tale. Shopping on ebay I get alot of movies that I can't find in the stores. There is nothing that I can say about the dislikes about this movie.

This movie is cute. An overall lesson of following your heart and making your own destiny. A cross between Shrek and almost every fairytale known to man - this movie is familiar enough to keep an audience of varying ages interested, but modern enough to keep it new through the viewing.

This is a cute movie similar to the style of Enchanted or Princess Bride. It deals with themes of diversity, fitting in, and trying to be oneself and is appropriate for children of all ages.

It is based on a book by the same name and while some parts are very different, I found I did not mind the changes. The setting is believable and the characters are engaging, my favorite being the elf who wants to be a lawyer.

Loved the movie. Its a Great adventure for family and kids. The movie is Funny and very entertaining. There is not gruesome violence.

I bought it for my gr-granddaughter who is named Ella. She loved it. She is only 3 but likes princesses and fairies; Thank you.

I ordered this because I seen the movie on TV and it is a cute story. It reminds me of the fairy tales of my youth that I would watch evey chance I got.
Anne Hathaway is the perfect lead character for this movie.

This is the kind of movie kids should be watching! Anne Hathaway gives an adorable performance as Ella, a girl betwixed with a spell that makes her perform everything asked of her! Not only does this cause Ella to never say no, it also costs her friendships and possible love interests. Enjoy the moral of the story that "saying no isn't always a bad thing" especially when it comes to your heart!

this is a good fsmily movie for all ages. we like ann hathaway in this one. the characters are funny. if you need a laugh, this would be the one to watch.

My thought upon picking up the "Ella Enchanted" book was, "Oh, well I suppose this might be good."... I read that book in ONE day! I utterly enjoyed the story line, characters, development, and subtle references to the original tale.

Despite all that, I was sorely disappointed with this film.

I truly pity anyone who believes that this atrocious interpretation of Ms. Levine's extraordinary rendering of the classic Cinderella story is the real thing.

My points of dislike:

1. Ella was quite young throughout the majority of the book, and yet in the movie she was grown up within a few minutes.

2. THERE WAS NO "EVIL UNCLE", Char's parents were alive and very kind, loving, and supportive.

3. The Step-Sisters and Char were also young for the main part of the book.

4. Hattie mostly and Olive completely were utter imbeciles , they were never smart enough to tell Ella to steal something.

5. No one wanted Ella to kill Char, in fact the whole controversy at the end was because Dame Olga and Hattie were trying to force Ella to marry Char so that they could tell her to give them all his riches.

6. Char and Ella's relationship was much sweeter in the book than in the movie.


I would never recommend anyone buy this DVD, instead take some quality time with your kids and read the book!

I bought this movie for my 6 year old. She has made me rent it from the movie rental store several times. She never gets tired of it, and sings along with all of the songs! She's loved it since it first came out as a new release and instead of continuing to rent it, a buy seemed a better option!

My daughter was interested in the video. She enjoyed the video. Ann Hathaway who stars in the video has performed in other movies in the same vein and this is equal if not superior to her other work

This is one of my entire family's favorite movies ever. Sure.. it's kinda corny, but it includes lovable characters, detestable villains, and all that good stuff for a good fairy tale. Highly recormmeded

I loved the book and was anxious to see the video that I purchased on e-bay. Unfortunately, after six weeks, it has never arrived. Wish I could review it...

I love this movie, it never fails to make me smile. The music and dancing, are halarious, and the whole tone of the movie is fun for the whole family, two thumbs way up!!!
