I can't say enough about this CD. When I first heard this CD I was completely floored, blown away, it is unlike any other music I heard period! The insane rythym of Meg's drums w/ Jack's voice floating through each heart stopping wail of his guitar, forget it, by far the best band out there today!!

My least favorite White Stripes CD
Review created: 05/18/09

I like The White Stripes. Elephant is probably the least exciting album of theirs, and the production quality and volume levels are low on this one. Not horrible songs, just horrible production. This is my least favorite White Stripes CD... it's eh.. OK. Not horrible.

a unique sound and alternative to some of todays trash

ok so rock isnt what it used to be, get over it. there are many bands out there that are just filling empty space and not getting anywhere with their music. but when the real act arrives they move on out and make way. in this great album you will find a littile bit of everything and a whole lot of quality. this might be the best album that the white stripes have put out so far. if you say otherwise than you will face the seven nation army. happy listening

The fact that this band consists of just two members and can crank out some of the most solid RETRO tinged ROCK is AMAZING! ! !
SEVEN NATION ARMY is an instant anthem......JACK and MEG are visionaries who took their rock roots and made some killer stew.....

You either love or hate Elephant. I have yet to meet someone who was neutral on this album. The White Stripes seem to be one of those rare bands that stay true to themselves even if it puts a damper on commercial accessibility. Sure, there are a couple songs here that would appeal to the mainstream but there are also a couple tracks that make sure the album, as a whole, does not (Little Acorns, Well It's True That We Love One Another). As you probably guessed, I'm one of those who loves this CD. 5 Stars.

  Refreshing!

I herd a couple of their songs on the radio and I liked them. This CD is great! Almost every song is a winner, and these days that's rare. The white stripes combine blues, garage, and 70's glam (think T-REX)into their own unique sound. If you're into that stuff, Check them out,you won't be disappointed.

  The White Stripes - Elephant
Review created: 02/04/08

This cd is awesome! In it, Jack White, expands upon his solid song-writing, with a good mix of rock, blues, and trippy jazz. Seven Nation Army has one of the best bass grooves and drum pounding beats ever. It was an instant classic. The song mix is smooth, flowing and diverse. Meg White's voice is incredible, and leaves you wanting more. She should definitley do a solo album. Even if you don't care for earlier releases from the White Stripes, you should definitely own this one! It's a perfect 10!

  Elephant CD-White Stripes
Review created: 01/03/08

I bought this Cfor my daughter as 1 of her Christmas presents. I thoroughly enfoyed it. I look forward to hearing more from this band. The folksy-blusey quality of the music is extremely entertaining. In this day & time of parental advisories it is refreshing to hear quality music overall w/o worry of it not being fit for the ears of a teen-ager.Also it is nice to be in agreement with my teenager about anything. Thanks

"Seven nation army" is the only song worth listening to on this CD. I traded it at my local disc exchange.

Definitely my favorite by these two - whatever they are - very original, innovative for the moment, and painful at times (in a good way.) Ball and Biscuit is the most rocking song in quite a while! Highly recommended!

  one of their best recordings

I wanted to have this album when it came out 3 years ago but never got it. Then somehow I kept hearing "I just don't know what to do with myself" by Burt Bacharach done by the White Stripes in my mind and I had to search Ebay to find Elephant. I did find it and won it! Somehow the mail screwed up and it took 3 weeks but it is just an example of major talent at it's best--the mix of blues, soul, punk!
