The Elementary Particles by Michel Houellebecq
This rather dry, rather slow moving novel starts out in an interesting way--describing the lives of two brothers who are connected in only the most tenuous way--and generally fizzles out in the last third. I suppose the novel is about sexual dysfunction....which takes you only so far. However, it is an extremely well-written, literary book; that makes up for the somewhat boring storyline.
