Movie Description
The Electric Light Orchestra was born of members of '60s psychedelic bands Move and the Idle Race, and picked up where the Beatles had left off, developing a high-tech, orchestral pop music that included a full string section. The band's period of inception is the focus of this critical review and documentary, examining how the band solidified its path with the original lineup of Jeff Lynne, Bev Bevan and Roy Wood, going on to produce a Brit-pop sound that dominated the 1970s and continues to be felt today. Drawing upon the insight of a distinguished team of working musicians and critics, this documentary is a definitive view of the band's formative years, and includes rare performance footage of ELO playing some of their most-loved songs.
