Election (DVD, 1999, Sensormatic)

I totally recommend this movie, forget Walk the Line, Reese Whiterspoon deserves an Oscar for Election!
I'm not Ebert, I just can say this movie is great, really funny and with a sense of humor you don't see everywhere.

Election is a very funny movie. I highly recommend it. The actors were perfect in their roles. I had it on video and decided to get it on DVD. It was a great purchase.

I am so sorry that I wasted the money on this movie. I saw Reese Witherspoons's name on the cover and thought it would be a good movie to watch. This must have been one of her very first acting jobs.. or at least I would hope so. It was a nasty movie..at least as far as I watched it. I got about 30 minutes into it and had to turn it off. I expected a better quality of story line from an actress like her. The language is horrible, the scenes are totally tacky, it is a bad movie to try to watch. Maybe if you are looking for a soft porn film this would work... I bought it because of her name and was completely disappointed.

Election is definitely five stars. This is one of Reese Witherspoon's best movies. Her character is very interesting. I think everybody knows a few people like that character. Tracy Flick played by Reese Witherspoon is smart,ambitious,and doesn't care who stomps on to get away. It really makes you feel sorry for everybody that has to deal with the little brat. Matthew Broderick also turns in probably his best performance as the ethics teacher. He really loves his job,but school ends up firing him for fixing the election so high school football jock played nicely by Chris Klein would win the election. I think everybody could see why he would do that. The Chris Klein character was a much nicer and honest person. The end of the movie was satisfying. Jim McAllister ends up with a job teaching kids history in a museum,and he gets satisfaction by throwing his drink at the vehicle that Tracy Flick is riding in. This movie shows you that being smart and ambitious doesn't always mean you are very nice or honest human being.
