From loneliness to love..

This book follows the very average and depressingly lonely life of Liz Dunn until one day she gets an unexpected phone from her long lost child call that will change everything forever. This encounter with her child proves to be bittersweet as she finds out that he is terminally ill. Her son adds unbelievable color and mystery to her bleak existence though, as he's having visions, can sing backwards and has been abused by practically every foster home he's ever been to. This novel shifts back and fourth through time, and gives lots of insight and opinion on life and death, loneliness and family while telling the character’s story. This book proves to be witty, emotionally stirring and at points, even morbidly humorous.. Though this book may not be quite as universally loved as some of Coupland’s other works, it is definitely worth the read if entertainment is what you are looking for.
