I love this cd. I started to listen to them again recently and found out my cd was missing. I found it on ebay and remember how much i liked the cd. if you are looking for girl who can rock listen to this cd.

) This album ROCKS! While most old school Veruca Salt fans would cite "American Thighs", the album before this one as the best VS, this one keeps the pop and melodic sensibilities, and adds some serious guitar and drum crunch. The songwriting is exceptional throughout, as well as the performances(Great vocal harmonies abound). It is a shame the co-founders Louise Post and Nina Gordon had a falling out after this record and VS as it was known up to that point dissolved (They are reportedly on friendly terms again currently, though VS goes on without Gordon), but this album remains an awesome testimony to their collaboration. I highly recommend it.

) If you recognize the name 'Nina Gordan' you'll enjoy what she did with this band before she went solo. In Veruca Salt, Nina and her compadres are young and angry and also a bit more rough around the edges. Veruca Salt is good rock n' roll, a child of the genre once called 'alternative', and reminiscent of the emerging consciousness of its time; for example the lyrics "...be straight for me" in the song "Straight". However, although the whole album is good, no one song turned out to be great enough to distinguish itself or the band, and hence Veruca Salt was one of those bands that faded with the changing trends. However, for a fan of girl bands and/or alternative music of the 90's, Veruca Salt is something you can appreciate.
