Great for your upcoming Zoo trip

This book has become a favorite with our children and me. First of all, I cannot tell you how often I sigh when the same old books are brought out to be read and they are less then my favorites. I strive to breathe new life into our reading material as often as I can. My children are not overly receptive to change. This book however was a clear home run. First of all, the illustrations are wonderful and keep both my 3 and 5 year old paying attention. The story line is wonderful because poor Edward is tired of being himself and tries out being several other animals in the zoo. Each day he finds that there is some other animal that is a favorite of the patrons of the zoo so he pretends to be that animal as he is bored with being just an Emu. Finally, he finds out he is someone's favorite adn goes back to being an Emu. Great message for kids, easy read and doesn't make you want to pull your hair out when they bring it over to you. Perfect for your next read prior to that zoo trip....if there is an Emu at the Zoo your children will probably be the only ones who know what an Emu is! Happy reading......
