This book is invaluable for any editor, no matter how experienced you are. This book will not only redefine the basics for you but it will expound apon them as well and teach you some things your may not know. Michaels book is for everyone who really wants to know how to edit. The people who write books now for the new FCP's reread this book before writing their new one because you cant beat the opurtunity of learning from the maker of FCP.
