Eddie Bauer Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat - Ashford

Having had an Eddie Bauer travel system as our first stroller - when we needed a car seat for our second car - we decided to stick with the same brand and purchased this - the Alpha Omega Ashford Car Seat!
We have used this for two years and really like this as a durable and safe product! Designed for babies and toddlers between 5 and a whopping 80lbs, this is a convertible seat - rear facing for the very smallest baby and then converts to forward facing for a child 20lbs and over! The very fact that it accomodate such a broad size, makes this a good choice of a seat that will last as long as your child will need it!
It has the all important safety features that we were seeking in a car seat - the LATCH system which is not only extremely safe, it makes installation of this seat a breeze! It also features a five point safety harness and the straps are wonderfully easy to adjust, you simply tighten by the push of a button at the base of the seat which allows you to pull the harness! Many car seats make this a hard task.. but not this one!
It is sturdy, roomy and comfortable with an adjustable headrest and the inclusion of a baby head guard for the smaller child! It has little storage pouches on the side which are great for small snacks or toys! It also has a drink holder - but this is not our favorite feature as it has never stayed on the seat due to bad design as the fabric on the seat fights for space with the area that holds the cup forcing it off!
The only other concern is the light color is perhaps not the most practical - the siding has a suede like material which marks at the drop of a hat! We have managed to take the cover off and wash it - but this is a difficult process and I am not too sure if this is meant to be done - getting this on and off it very hard, but it does wash well!
All in all, a great buy, as it is safe and comfortable, with great value for money and all the features you need in a car seat with the exception of a useable cup holder which would be a handy feature!
