Industry Reviews Sandler, a former editor for the Associated Press, is an avid traveler and understands the kinds of information tourists need to know. His book is filled with details, particularly about Washington, D.C. (to which over half the book is devoted), including plane, train, bus, automobile, and metro travel to, from, and around the city, sights, restaurants, recreational facilities, and hotels. His descriptions are brief, for the most part limited to information on how to get there and how much it costs. Reading the book is a bit like reading lists nothing of the spirit of the places is imparted, only the facts. If this is what you want, the book should serve you well.
