Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer (2007, Hardcover)

This book was so slow and so unlike the other books, I couldn't even finish it. Also, she seems to have taken a LOT of her storylines from the series by L.J. Smith (The Vampire Diaries). There are just WAY too many similarities between her books and the ones by LJ. Her writing went from provacative and intriguing to boring.

I've read all 4 of the " Twilight Books" in one week. Stephenie has taken the stereo typed vampire and transformed it into the one of most beautiful love story. I've read the " Midnight Sun" she has on her website. I'm sad the story stops at "Breaking Dawn"

I got the book and read it in 2 days. It was simply amazing. It is very addicting. I stayed up the first night til late reading it. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good vampire love story.

I love the love triangle this books creates, with the tension between Jacob and Edward. It's a real page turner. I couldn't put it down.

Review: I struggled with this book. As a true and unfaltering Team Edward fan I hated seeing the relationship between Bella and Jacob blossom as it did. There was always something off about Jacob, in my eyes. The unreasonable anger and the constant edge of immature aggression, I just never warmed to him. I wanted Bella to give him up, in more than just words, I wanted her to be over him.

I wished there had been more to this story. I felt kinda cheated from the depth I had found in the previous books. While reading I couldn't help but think that Meyer had been pushed too fast to get these books published, I felt as though I wasn't seeing the results I had been expecting after reading her first book. I think it is a shame that promising authors, with absolute potential, are pushed to neglect their true potential for fast deadlines.

I borrowed somebody's "Twilight" book and was immediately hooked. I had to buy the entire 4-book Twilight Saga. Eclipse is the second out of the four books. I have heard these books called "teen girl" books, but please be assured that I am MUCH older than that and still absolutely LOVED these books. I plan to reread all of them before the Twilight movie comes out in November 2008. It is a very, very romantic tale of a vampire young man and a human young woman, with a twist of a werewolf involved in this. Wouldn't want to reveal too much, but each of these books are AWESOME and I highly recommend them!

Great book, I've read it, but wanted to own a copy to read it again. Meyer has great work, I've read all of her books out so far, and they are all brilliant.

I love this book! It took a couple of days to receive, but that's to be expected. It arrived in perfect condition and the book is spectacular!

Stephenie Meyer is an incredible writer. From the first page of this novel you are again swept up into the lives of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Just as terrific as her two previous works of art, "Twilight" and "New Moon".

I am a huge fan of the Twilight series, but I'm sorry, this one just did not measure up. The good parts came too soon, and then she wasted like 300 pages on the final confrontation. It was just out of balance I thought.

Of course I love this series. I am so glad there is a 4th book because this one leaves you hanging at the end. I want to know how she could betray her vampire love and kiss joshua?? Is she crazy??
Great read.

Now that Edward has given in completely for his love of Bella and returned to her, she is torn between the bond she formed with Jacob during Edward's abscense and the love she could never let go of for Edward. Thoughout the book her guilt of hurting either one of them consumes her. Although she knows her heart is full of love for the vampire, she cannot let go of the guilt she feels when she causes the werewolf pain. Acording to a deal struck with the Italian vampire at the end of book 2 ("New Moon"), she knows she'll either have to become a vampire herself or die because she knows their secret now. Edward however has no intention of letting her heart stop. And yet a third tension in this book is Bella's desire to enter into a more physical relationship with Edward he refuses to move their relationship to that level without her first giving into a request of his own. (He is QUITE old fashioned !!)

Stephenie Meyer once again keeps tensions on all subjects high as she continues this dazzling series. Once again I could not put this book down. At this point in my reading of the series I had read the first 3 books in 4 days!! Personally I love it!

I liked it a lot better than the second book. Bella still drives me crazy, but it is well written and a fast read. I had to have it after I read the first two! Eclipse did not disappoint.

This was a story that I just COULD NOT put down. I read the three books in less than 5 days! I am an avid reader, and there have been no other books that i can think of that have captivated me as these did. I almost felt depressed when finished with the third book, cause I got so close to the characters. It almost felt like "I" was losing Edward by being done with the books. Most definitely makes you want to go out and find your OWN vampire boyfriend. He is written as one of the most selfless, kind and interesting people, but with that "bad boy" appeal. I can hardly wait till the fourth book comes out, and DEFINITELY look foreward to reading Midnight Sun. That is "Twilight" written from Edward's narrative, not Bella's.

I purchased the book Eclipse after reading the other books by Stephanie Meyer, her books are always fast sellers so i love to find them on Ebay, very affordable too. the novel keeps you so intrigued it is very hard to put down. Not only did i enjoy it, but so did my teenage daughter, her best friend, her boyfriend as well as i my mother. I guess you could say it is ageless. I dont usually care for books that are about vampires and such but it is fantastic..keeps the reader turning pages as fast as they can....

This is one of my favorite books that I have ever read. The only problem I have with any of these books is that I can't put them down. I get so wrapped up in these books that I find myself reading just one more chapter. It is an easy read and keeps you enthralled from the get go. I strongly recommend reading this book even if you are not into the whole vampire thing. It is first and for most a love story with the vampire stuff intertwined. The love that these characters have is so fresh and it is based on the very human desire to find the one you have to be with forever.

whoever wrote that review is completely beserk and needs to actually READ the book. jacob is NOT a vampire, and the whole thing about the city's "well-being" is the least of bella, edward and jacob's problems. and bella really isn't choosing over her friendship with jacob and her love for edward, but her love for jacob. at first she thinks it's her friendship with him she's losing, but was lying to herself all along and it's really her love for him she's losing. learn the english language people! i won't be buying this book, but maybe one that has a PROPER review. :P

I love this book so much! I had to borrow it from a friend when i first read it, and i knew i had to get it for myself. I can't wait to see the movie!
