Eat This Not That! is a wonderful little book by two authors who have already proven themselves. David Zinczenko (The ABS Diet) and Matt Goulding both work for Men's Health Magazine and know nutrition. The book is small enough to carry EVERYWHERE with you in your glove compartment, purse, backpack, gym bag, or briefcase so you can know what to choose IN the situation. It is worth the money to own more than one if you need to leave one at the office too.

The book covers how to make wiser choices in your everyday life. Each page is full of photos of restaurants, as well as what to eat at ballparks, pictures of what to eat for breakfast, what cheese to eat, what Mexican food, what snacks, what to eat at the mall, what kids drinks are better than others, and much more.

This book is an answer for people who want to make better choices, but have a hard time sticking to a strict diet. Anyone can easily start losing weight by making some simple, wiser choices to get the weight loss momentum going. If you don't need to lose weight, you can still see what simple healthier choices can do for your overall health, stamina, energy, focus, and attitude.

Eat This Not That! is a terrific gift for almost anyone. Even looking through the book very quickly you can have "aha!" moments of how to make better choices immediately for yourself and your family. If you are often in the car running short on time, or running your kids somewhere so you go for fast food every week, this book can make a huge difference in your life.

I decided to buy this book because of seeing David Zinczenko on the Today Show several times and really loving the information he was sharing. This book is SO chock full of information, it is amazing. We are SO clueless to what we are actually eating these days. I co-lead a healthy lifestyle class weekly and we will be using the information in this book as a reference for class topics for months to come! Favorite restaurant menus, menu decoders, drinks, information on kids menus, Fast food are all covered along with super market shopping and food swapping and on and on. This is a MUST READ for us all!

I bought the book since I was trying to loose some weight and I found in the internet that this book was pretty good.
It is very informative regarding the nutrition facts of the food in the most common food chains... and honestly it is scary those numbers.
I recomend this book if you want to take informed decisitions about your food.

I saw this guy on the Ellen show and he showed her several things that I thought was interesting and helpful, this is why I bought this book! This is the coolest book I have ever owned, everything is so easy to find. I took it shopping with me and not only saved the calories I saved money! This book comes highly recommended from me Jennifer West!

I went to the bookstore the other day and I saw this book. I picked it up and sat down to read it. WOW! Who knew that a Whopper has 1000 calories. Naturally I bought it. This book taught me all kinds of new things about what is in food. It shows what's healthy and what's not at top restaraunts and has a bunch of other information on healthy eating.. Eat This Not That is a MUST have for all families!

This book has been so uplifting for me to help with my cholesterol. I've told so many of my friends and co-workers about this book. They've gone out and purchased it themselves as well. It has helped me so much in which I'm more aware of the fats and grams that are in some of the foods I previously ate and that I avoid those now by selecting their alternatives. If you're a health conscious person, this is the book for you.

This book will help you when making decisions on what to order should you go out to any popular restaurant. From what to eat and what not to eat. It shows you guidelines on fat content, caloric content and much much more. It makes your decisions easier. I found that what I thought was healthier to pick from was in fact NOT the case at all. For instance, wouldn't you think a chicken wrap sandwich is healthier than a small cheeseburger? Nope! Surprised? You must get this book and read it and perhaps carry a purse big enough to carry it around because you will want to refer to it often.
YOu can give advice to others and use it as a way to back up your opinions.
It used to be that if someone asked you to go out to eat at a restaurant to dine you would turn them down because you are on a diet and we all know that eating out consists of "refined foods" that add weight to the mid section of our bodies. Well not entirely true. YOu can go to Olive Garden and this book will show you what to order and what to stay away from, Chili's too, In&out too, etc.... Heck it mentions so many eateries you'll be surprised. There is a section on what to eat even at home. What types of foods are best for weight loss so you can eat all day without gaining weight. Its a must have book and I reccomend it highly.
You may ask yourself why I chose to rate this book good instead of excellent. WEll the truth is: There is some information that could be in there but isn't so one book can't possibly carry all the needed information so with this book alone you won't get all the information you need but it sure has the basics and then some.

The reason I bought this book was to help in my eating.
I have had my book about two weeks. The reason I made the purchase is beacuse I started on Weight Watchers. This is a book that helps when going to eat so that you get the calories and fat grams that are the lowest. It is a very good guide and most restaraunts are in it.
The only negative I have found is that there is not enough comparisons. At least to offset that there is a weekly E-Mail newsletter that does give you more.
Overall I am very Very happy.

Actually it was a gift for my daughter who is trying to lose weight. I thought it would be helpful when dining out. We both reviewed it and it seemed as if it would be very helpful. I haven't gotten an update from her since she started using it.

This is a great book forthose of us who eat out on a regular basis. I found it very informative. The how to read a menu and holiday meal sections were great! I would have liked to have seen more options per restaurant. I have allergy to fish, and that was frequently the "eat this" option. Also, it is good to remember that the book is not regional, many restaurants are not available in my state.

I heard about the book and thought it would be beneficial to everyday eating habits. It is a good coffee table book. You can pick it up, browse and learn some very interesting facts every time you look at it. I have shared many of those facts with friends and co-workers. Eat the donut, not the muffin!
Most people today live in the fast food world. If we can chose a healthier food item over one that's more abundant in fat and sodium, that can only be the better choice.

I'm sure my review will upset some readers, but this is just my honest opinion. Every single overweight and obese person should be forced to sit down and read all three books in the Eat This, Not That series. Our nation is one that way too often eats with emotion instead of logic and critical thinking about what we put into our bodies.
My wife and I constantly cook homemade meals and rarely (1-2 times a month) eat out at restaurants. We carefully select all foods that go into our cooking, insisting on organic whenever possible. Whenever I talk to people about how we cook, I usually get the same response: “I can't afford organic foods, its too expensive!” I find it odd that someone can't afford organic foods, but CAN afford a new iPod, iPhone, a pack of cigarettes every day and an SUV that gets 10 MPG.
I can say this because my wife and I both used to smoke. My wife used to weigh 350 and I was at 250. Now my wife is at 125 and I'm at 195. We no longer smoke and we also both now own 30 MPG or better Toyotas.
We both also stay abreast on the latest information on foods, and the Eat This, Not That series is world class information. Major food manufacturers DO NOT CARE about you or your health, they only care about taking money out of your pocket. You must educate yourself and bring up all your defenses and learn about what you are putting into your body.
Now, this does not mean you can't have a few cookies every once in a while. I am and will always be a cookie-addict. But its all about moderation and education.
What really upsets me most, however, is that I and my wife have to pay exorbitant health insurance coverage because so many out there simply can't take care of themselves. Those of us who take care of ourselves are being punished for those who cannot or will not. Our nation now teeters on 60% of the population being overweight or obese and diabetes is skyrocketing.
Please buy these books, borrow them from a friend, get them from the library and educate yourselves. You will be shocked at the information you learn in this series of books about the foods you eat.

This is a very informative book that helps you make choices between everyday items. For instance, if you have to go out to eat, it provides you the best choices from the restaurant and the worst ones. It was amazing to see that the foods that we think are "healthy" by name aren't really very good for you at all. This is quick and easy to read and makes a great reference tool when trying to watch what you eat.

Read book from cover to cover. Easy to understand ...great information. Handy resourse for anyone dieting or just wanting to eat healthier. Not about fast food, but good food fast for those of us eating on the run, not always having time to eat food that is good for us. I will keep this book close at hand, and refer to it often. Highly recommend this book.

This is a great book! I have been looking for a book telling me what I can eat... this tells me what I can & what I can't!!! (what I shouldn't) I would recommend this book to anyone who is starting a diet or anyone who just wants to eat better!! Plus I got it at a great price!!

Eat This Not That is a great resource book to go to when dining out. Not a book to read from cover to cover, but one to become familiar with. This is not a diet book, but one to help you make better choices when going to popular restaurants.
