The directions are clear and well illustrated with step-by-step drawings, and include a full-color photograph of a girl modeling the do. The format is colorful and attractive. The author includes instructions on hair wrapping, and also shows how to make scrunchees, ponytail holders, barrettes, and head bands. She advises on the length and type of hair that works best in each style, helping to ensure success.
