Easter Parade (DVD, 2005, Special Edition)

A typical MGM Blockbuster Musical. Fred Astaire came out of retirement to work with Judy Garland. A love quadrangle is a dandy subplot in this movie about a Vaudeville adagio dancer who is in need of a new partner after his glamourous parter goes solo. Astaire picks Garland because she can belt a song and has alot of heart, but he is trying to make a sow's ear into a glam-queen and it don't play! Of course all turns out right in the end. Irving Berlin wrote the music; Fred Astaire and Judy Garland were a couple of his favorite musical performers. Fred, because Berlin says He always sings my songs the way I wrote them and Garland because She can sing my songs better than anyone else. Great dancing and singing and the classic -Walk Up the Avenue- baggy pants routine that became a Garland trademark--Buy it and Watch it. We won't blow your cool image by telling anyone you love this wonderful musical !!!

I enjoyed the movie for the singing and dancing along with the great performances by Fred Astair, Judy Garland and Ann Miller. What was the most dissappointing was the costuming. It was confusing at best. The costumes went from the teens (when it was set) to the 40s/50s when it was filmed. The skirts went up and down faster than an elevator! Other than that the movie is very enjoyable.

This is a true cinema classic, one that most people have seen at least once. This newest edition from Warner is by far the best quality yet, and the Technicolor is fantastic! Incredible colors on the streets, the gowns, even the pets! If you like this movie at all, you owe it to yourself to give this pressing a watch!

The movie is awesome and is a classic film. Fred Astaire and of course Judy Garland make the movie. Its a must see if you love musicals.

One of MGM's finest among many others. Judy Garland was great a Dorthy from the Wizard Of Oz but it doesn't stop they're she grew to be one of the finest entertainers in the world in spite of her many ups and downs. The story is sweet, funny and entertaining it takes place in New York around 1912 on Easter Sunday and Fred Astaire lost his dance partner and, well you'll have to see it for your self. You won't be disappointed trust me.

This movie is something my family has loved for years, we all get together and watch it after dinner on Easter, always looking for it on the tv at easter now we have it for our own, we watch this like at christmas wa all watch it's a wonderful life at christmas it's just not the holiday with out these films!

This is an amazing movie with 2 of the best movie stars of their time. It is a feel good movie that is clean wholesome entertainment for the whole family. I remember watching it every Easter as a kid and now I get the pleasure of enjoying it with my kids. If you like classic movies, this is a must see!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE OLD MOVIES OF ALL TIMES!ABSOLUTELY LOVE MUSICALS AND LOVE JUDY GARLAND. THEY DON'T MAKE MUSICALS LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

I bought the DVD to show the movie to my grandgirls who had never seen it. They were delighted. The DVD was new in its wrapper and excellent quality. To anyone who hasn't seen it it is one of the best musicals ever made -a wonderful old movie that's been remade in newer form without losing any of its old charm. There are no problems with it. I am delighted with it.

The movie was purchased to replace mine on laser disc. Movie arrived in excellent condition and I continue to enjoy the film.

My wife & I are big Fred Astaire fans, and this is one of our favorites. And so the purchase of this video was for her, for Easter. The VHS copy we had we can no longer use because we got rid of all VCRs' a couple of years ago, and this way we don't have to wait for Turner Classic Movies to air it. It's a great movie.
