Mint condition!!
My son needed this book for required summer reading and I decided to try half.com for the first time. I am amazed at the condition of the book. The book came sooner than expected and was in perfect, brand-new condition at such a discounted price! I will continue to order from this supplier!

The book arrived on time. The condition was described as brand new.
Since it was a book for myself I found it acceptable, but I wouldn’t give it as a gift. On the other side, 2-dollar book cannot be mint condition (bn.com price: $17).

The book arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The book was in like new condition. It also was the 100th anniversary edition of the authors' birth, making it a nice copy to have.

East of EdenThe book is a paperback which is in excellent shape. The book itself is a wonderful story and I had not read East of Eden in many years. So it was a pleasure to read John Steinbeck again. He wrote so that one could visualize what he was saying or seeing. The book was sent on a very timely basis and I received it in very good condition.

Of course, East of Eden by John Steinbeck is a classic and I've read it years ago, but it goes beyond "classsic". The book is so descriptive that you can feel it as though you were actually there. When you finish the book, you know the people. They have faces and voices that you could pick out of a crowd if they were real. Sometimes I have to stop and remember that it's fiction, not reality. I've heard about authors that could "draw you into the characters", but John Steinbeck truly can and does.

A classic, so well written. My book club read this and we said it was the best book we read this year. I say the best in many a year. Other writers pale compared to John Steinbeck. A treasure. Do yourself a favor, read it, you will not be able to put it down...............The most intriuging story with best character development. Ten times better than movie.

Steinbeck's modern retelling of the Cain and Abel story is both compelling and unsettling. The characters are well drawn, and the reader is pulled into the drama from the beginning of the story. Steinbeck explores our concepts and beliefs about good and evil, as well as the family dynamic in American society through the trials of Adam, a good but simple man, his wife, and their two sons.
If you were forced to read this in high school, give the book another try as an adult. You'll be surprised at the depths of the human condition that Steinbeck touches.
