Best picks of the war movie genre

This is a fine movie indeed with great suspense action and an intelligent plot. The cast is first rate in Michael Caine Robert Duvall and Donald Sutherland in particular. If war movies is something you enjoy or would only like to try, this is one that deals less with tank battles and more with a kidnap plot by a specially picked team from Germany targeting Winston Churchill in person! Now thats a yarn worth watching!

I like this movie quite a bit. I know much about the allied side of the war, but I am also interested on the other side, what made honorable and great soldiers fight for a despicable police state. This is one of those stories. The story is about an honorable soldier who runs afoul of the authorities when he tries to save a young person from the concentration camps, he is actually put on death row, unless, he takes this mission, practially a suicide mission. So he's damned if he does and damn if he doesn't. It is surprising up to the very end. If I might have something against it, would be the inclusion of the Irish man sub-plot, which fills in the story of the enemies that England had, within and without, the conclusion to his story is mushy and ambivalent. It stars a young Michael Caine, doing his duty till the end, Donald Sutherland and Jenny Agutter and a few others round out an excellent cast. I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid, and when I found it in Ebay, at a very reasonable price, I snapped it up, and watched it with my kids, to show them that it doesn't take much to get caught up in the web of an evil empire, kinda explains why a lot of people voted Republican, but maybe that's another story.

Never received it!!! Ebay allows sellers to have tons of negatives and does nothing but can allow a cashback from a credit card with paypal for an unsubstantiated reason. Please be careful of sellers with alot of negatives and mean buyers who try to take you too! Sad with peformance of ebay & paypal, shame on you!!!

It is a horrible movie. The language is not suitable for children or adults. After watching the movie for 15 minutes, I destroyed it. No Christian would have anything to do with this movie.

Good acting etc, more realistic (less hokey and over-done) than the original. It's interesting to see a new-ish update of an older movie and then compare them.

this is a classic, though for me, it is alot of politicks. german spys invade england, and the whole process is rooting them out, I thought it could use more 'firepower'
