ESPN NFL 2K5 (Xbox, 2004)

I have to say, I am not the biggest sports game fan in the world, I pretty much like to play Halo, Call of Duty 2, Splintercell, Etc... But I am a Real time Football fan, so I decided to try this out, after all, if I didn't like it I could resell it here on eBay. and so I bought it, and have been playing it around once our twice a week ever since! Multiplayer is pretty much what I play, since I have friends that come over, and the quality of graphics rivals new games such as Halo or Burnout Revenge. You can always read the listings here on eBay to learn more about it, but overall I would recomend this to any Xbox owner as a Party game or single player as well.

even now its still the best football game ever. even madden 09 for the next gen consoles doesn't compare seriously

I really like this game because it have the live ESPN coverage and the half time show was wonderful. It have the game day feel to it. What I dislike, is I really think the 2K sports should have really tried to compete with EA sports so their could have been an alternative to Madden. Madden is starting to get sloppy because they have no competition. 2K we need you in the football world. I don't care how much money you need to come back just do it. You will get it back because everybody wants a Madden alternative.

it's been a few years, but I can download new rosters and I can't stand maddden. I have bought atleast 5 copies of this game in my life. I have friends who feel the same way.

This is the best football game ever made. This game blows even todays madden out of the water, and ESPN 2K5 was made four years ago. The game play, graphics and all other features are years ahead of any other game out there. Its a shame that ESPN discontinued the series after the 2005 season, but they were wisely bought out by a far superior game.

(Note: When this game was brand new, it only sold for $30.00 as opposed to $55.00+ for the newer football games. Please! Bring back ESPN football!!!!!!)

While this game may be older, not a next-gen console release and not have the best graphics, it's still a model football game. This game should have set the mold for future releases, had the NFL decided to set a monopoly and signed exclusively with EA Sports to produce Madden as the only NFL title. What's great about this game is the way it keeps you playing. Not only can you build your franchise and play several seasons though, but you can build your "crib". Basically, you'll have a penthouse that you can decorate with team memorabilia that you unlock. You unlock the items by earning points based on your performance in the games you play. You'll also add furniture and mini-games - like darts - as you go. Another great thing about this game is that it really seemed to be the first game that would remember how you and other players tend to play. If you and your friends have profiles in the game, the CPU will remember the style you play. If you run more often than pass, run the same several plays on average, etc, the computer remembers this. In turn, if you want to practice against your friends without having to endure embarassment or heckling, you can play against their profile and the CPU will play almost exactly as they would. This leads to the next feature...while it's not the best, you can play celebrities profiles and teams. The celebrities have all-star teams, so it's definitely a challenge, but it does get annoying that they have to talk all the time after plays. Plus, when you beat the celebrities, you'll get their teams and other unlockables. So this seems like a lot, but there's more!

Like I said, the graphics might not be the best there is (especially compared to the next gen consoles), but they're pretty good. The gameplay is basically similar to anything released within the past few years. Perhaps, though, the best feature which I have yet to see anywhere else is the trophy room. You'll have a room where you'll display trophies you earn in game play. These trophies range from things such as a perfect season, NFC/AFC champ, super bowl champs...or position trophies like earning a set amount of yards as a running back or QB...or player trophies - for these, you'll have to accomplish a certain set of goals as a particular players. Some of these trophies you can earn with relative ease, others will keep you playing forever in an attempt to collect them all. If Madden followed the crib mode and trophy features, I'd bet it would be even more critically acclaimed then it already is.

Put this all together and you get a football game that, while a few years old, is still a great title...and could even be the best!

I used to be hooked on the classic Techmo Football Games on Nintendo. This game surpasses all those. You control everything! You can trade, edit, and even create players. You have to manage salary caps. You negotiate with players after their contracts expire,if desired. Also, if you chose you can release them to the free agency. All 32 teams are represented in this awesome game.There is a draft in the game, so new players can take the place of other players that retire. Their is a crib that rewards you for several achievements.The crib unlocks cheats that can be bought through catalogs. For example, you can buy a cheat that will alow you to kick a field goal all the way from your 20 yard line. This game is the only reason I bought an x-box.

I HAVE PLAYED FOOTBALL UP TO AND THROUGH THE COLLEGE LEVEL AND HAVE BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME SINCE IT CAME OUT. I HAVE EVEN ADDED ALL PLAYERS EVERY YEAR THAT ARE ON THE FIELD FOR THAT SEASON. THIS IS THE MOST REALISTIC FOOTBALL GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED TO THIS DAY. CUSTOM MUSIC OF YOUR OWN WHILE YOU PLAY IS SICK. I WAS HOPING IT WOULD MAKE MADDEN GO BYE BYE. BUY THIS AND YOU WON'T NEED ANY OTHER

I have just bought Nfl 2k5 from the regular Xbox. If you like football this is the game to get. I was so empressed by the cib. You can make your own house in the game. Listen to music and watch vidoes. It is an old game so you might have to create your own players. If you do get it have fun, create a crib, and invite your friend over to play with you.

Aster 5 years...it's still better than Madden NFL 10!

This game is one of the best FB games I have ever played on any system. This game displays every angle of football, from the broadcast booth to the playing field, and the edition of ESPN is just ridiculous. When you look at todays games they are lacking that off the field experience, you may knock this game but there isnt one sports fan who would love to have thier best play highlighted on sportscenter. With the ability to go online and download the updated rosters along with the rookies makes this a timeless classic!!!!!

This game is the best football game ever produced. I was elated to find out that it was 360 compatible. Great graphics, unbelievable control and lifelike presentation! A great product from 2k Sports. I just hope EA doesn't get the contract again!

ESPN 2k5 has to be one of the most NFL great video games known today before it was bought out by the Madden Franchise. Followed by ESPN, the game had great innovation and was supported with amazing graphics by Visual Concepts. Known today, people still buy this game with features on the internet to allow roster updates giving the game its roster updates year after year somewhat still competing with the Madden franchise.

everything went well i felt good doing buisnees with this person. i liked how the person discribed the item very vividly and i had no dislikes about buying or the way the item looked or may have you.

Game that I was sent did not work. Would not load and each time I tried Xbox error message of either dirty disc or damaged disc appeared on screen. Have to return and hopefully they will replace with a working game, Also did not come with a instruction book.

I expected to get NFL 2K5 but was given NFL 2K4. The game is also in terrible condition. I have attempted to contact the seller and have not been given a response. Very disappointed.

I love the graphics and sound it's fun playing it, i enjoy playing all the time. I love the steelers so that's the team i use all the time. i like the plays, the patterns. everything.

I mean it was cheap price. The package was was perfect. The game looked new.

The thing I love about this game is that it has less scratch and game plays just fine, like it was new. The reason I bought this game is because I wanted to.

Game delivered very quickly and game came in perfect condition! Plays great, missing those ESPN 2K Sports NFL games. A must have for all sports gamers!

There's really not much to say. This game is amazing. It's an editors choice at GameSpot with a score of 9.2 out of 10. You can't go wrong with this game. You don't even have to like football to enjoy this game. But if you do, this game is just that much better. Buy it!

I was very happy to see the game when it came. Not only was it shipped out immediatly but, it was brand new and in excellent condition. My son was so happy to get this for his birthday. I would recommend this to anyone!
