ELO was the 70's Dream Theater equivalent

I've enjoyed listening to this band for several decades. Very melodic, very complex music, in fact ELO was far ahead of their time. Doing things that most other bands wouldn't dare to, the band mixed in electric violin, keyboard solo's and layered effects in a very classy (and classical inspired) way. If you love 70's music then you probably own some ELO releases. If you don't then this cd is a great way to start, you'll own a good portion of the songs that made them famous, but for the true ELO fan you'll find it woefully incomplete and lacking...if that ends up the case then look into the box set called "Afterglow" for another way to own the complete highlights and best B sides from the band. I still give this cd 5 stars because for most people this will be enough, and provide them with the songs that they know from the radio.
