EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS Ultrasonic Lens

This is the older version of this lens (the newer one is a 70-300), I have had it for about a year and use it mostly for aviation photography. It is quick and accurate on focusing, and stays sharp well into the 200mm range, but does go a little soft as you get closer to 300mm. I have used the IS feature a few times in low light situations such as my brother's graduation, and while I am glad I have it I have learned not to rely on it too much as it only improves camera shake by two stops. There are only two complaints, this is a heavy piece of glass and can take it's toll on your neck if you have it mounted to an EOS-1 or EOS-3 even with out the booster. My other complaint is that this lens is a "creeper" if you have it hanging from a strap the lense can bee pulled from 75mm to the 100mm position by its own wieght. Even with these two concerns, it is a great lens and worth every penny.

I bought this lens immediately before the new version (70-300mm)came out and have never regretted it. It was considerably less money and the older image stabilization works fine. Two stops leeway is not as good as three, but it is still pretty darned good. It can be a terrific buy, but some bidders on eBay have pushed this lens up to prices close to the newer version, perhaps not realizing that it is the older lens.

I recently opened a photography studio. Looking to save money, i turned to ebay just to review prices. The quality, quantity, and price could not beat by local stores in my town...so i decided to build my shop through ebay. Purchases include lights, gels, stands, umbrellas, and backdrops. The best, and most pricey item i bought was my Canon EF 75-300mm lens. It was the most perfect buy- the seller was excellent, the price was right, and the lens arrived just a few days later. The body of this used lens is in excellent condition, and after seeing the prints it helped me capture, it is in great working order. The image stabilizer(IS) and the ultrasonic motor(USM) have helped me eminsley during the weddings and other important shoots that i've taken this lens to.

A perfect lens in my book, Takes very chrisp and clear pics. And for someone like myself that just takes pics of my famley and on vaction and things like that i dont see why anyone would need anything more $ than this. I would say get it you wont be sorry!!

This is a very nice lens that works great. No problems, and very stable. I practiced with 2 moving cars when I first got it. The photos were clear and precise on what I wanted.

I recently purchased this lense. It has been great. I have taken some beautiful pictures with this lense. For the price this is one of the best lenses on the market.

It is a wonderful lens, and I received it very quickly. We have used it often and it has done a excellent job.

The Lens is a n excvellent addition to my system. I have been able to get nature and wildlife shots that prior to having this lens were much more difficult to get.

This is a great lens. It works like a dream. I bought it because it was hlf of the retail price advertised in stores.

I got the lens just as soon as I paid for it, I drove to winter haven fl. to pick it up and it was just what he said it was and I love the lens, I am in the market for another close up IS lens must be 2.8 .

The Canon lens I received was excellent! Could not tell it had ever been used. Seller had great item, and under advertised the lens.

I bought it for my Canon Rebel Xsi and It works great so far....No issues....I am beginner photographer and I have no complains so far. Autofocus, IS and USM quiter.....Overal, I give it 9 out of 10.

I bought this les for my daughter for Christmas. Even though this lens is an older version of the Canon 70-300 IS lens, it was in new condition and it works great.

I was looking for an IS zoom and this lens did the trick. When you consider the 1.6 multiplying factor I have tremendous range given the 75 - 300 zoom.

Fast Lens easy use without having to use a Tripod, and I have taken shots pointing upwards downwards etc.without the Tele sliding back or forth.This a common complaint about this Lens but so far have not had this experience. Pics. are a little out of focus on the outer border when shot at maximum Telephoto,but over all I am satisfied with it. The Price was a little high,but the condition is excellent for a used Lens and its in perfect working condition.A good buy and a satisfied customer.Thank you E-Bay.

I'm love this lens. I take a lot of nature shots and sport shots of sometimes unwilling and always quickly moving subjects. The image stablizer is a must. I've used the regular Canon 75-300mm and the IS is worth the extra money.

Item is great. Pictures taken come out perfect. It is easy to handle and the auto focus is just fine and better is the IS for distant photos. I bought this item because the price was just right and the condition is very good. Aslo, I needed a lens of this kind for my sport photos.

Item was as specified...Used.
Has a little "click type" noise and feel in manuel movement.
I will have to get it refurbished.

It Takes great pictures and is as good as they said. We just got back from the Mt. taking many great shots. We will use this len a lot.

This lens can get you up close to anything or anyone you want. I have used mine for my sons dirtbike racing, concerts, taking pic's of Christmas lights - about everything in the month I've had it. The pictures turn out great. Stabilizer is something you need and this one works great. A little heavy but then again this is the first lens I've had of this size so it could be lighter than most. You'll love how your photos turn out with this lens.
