Okay I like this 1 but I like Forever Hardcore More

Listen the WWE with Heyman did a great job on this 2 Disc set. Including matches, information, & footage. Only if you are a True Ecw Fan like me. You would get the Forever Hardcore Instead or own both which I do.

WWE leaves out Sabu,Terry Funk, Shane Douglas, Joey Styles, Francine,New Jack, Axl Rotten, even Tod Gordon himself.

If you want to know the really truth you have to own both. To get the whole perspective on the matter. Forever Hardcore is highly, highly UNDERRATED!!

IF YOU SEE 1 GET IT. TRUST ME YOU WILL LOVE IT. BUT GET BOTH IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW THE REAL RISE AND FALL OF ECW!!!

ALSO PLEASE LET EBAY KNOW IF MY REVIEW OR GUIDES ARE HELPFUL AS I'M WORKING ON MORE REVIEWS AND THEY JUDGE ME BEING 1 BY THAT

This is what real wrestling is. This is old school Ecw, not the garbage on Tuesday nights run by Vince Mcman. Although it doesn't include all of the wrestlers (how can you leave out New Jack?) this history of Extreme Championship Wrestling is a must for any hardcore fan, and any newbie that wants to learn why true wrestling fans had it so good in the '90s.

I bought this dvd because I have always been a huge fan of ECW, but I wanted to learn more about what went on behind the scenes. This documentary takes you from the beginning of ECW to the very last day. It is well worth the money and time to watch it. Once I started watching it, I didn't want to stop. It tells you all about the insides and out of ECW. I talks about how other organizations stole their wrestlers and their style. It talks about how although Paul Heyman is an excellent promoter, his financial decisons led to the demise of the company. It gives an insight into several of the big names in ECW, some of their storylines, and why they left the company. It also includes a bonus disc with several good ECW matches. I'll leave it at that, but I suggest that if you're a true wrestling fan then you must own this!!!

This DVD is an incredibly candid look into the "little promotion that could" ECW. There is a ton of rare footage and clips pieced together with from-the-heart commentary. You hear from almost everyone involved in the story as a very detailed chronology is laid out. Everyone gives their very personal perspectives and tells it like they saw it. From the thrills of finding success in the company to the heartbreak of leaving it behind for grander opportunities, the emotion of the interviews cuts right through you. (Try to find Taz'z story about playing Madison Square Garden for the first time. It really shows you the heart of these guys and why ECW was able to compete with the giants. Class act, Taz.) It is a very interesting piece to watch when you consider what has transpired since and what is currently going on with the revival of the ECW brand.

On the down side there aren't many extras and I wish there were more matches in total. I assume the others are scattered on various DVD's. Regardless, this DVD delivers what is promises and is a must for any wrestling fan.

Some true feelings are exposed in this DVD from Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman, and Eric Bishoff and that adds a very personal touch for the fans of the original ECW (Not the crap ECW of today). Many others such as Tommy Dreamer and Mick Foley make appearances and talk about their experiences in ECW. Most of the feature matches are very good classics, but not all of them, and that's why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. I'm not sure if it's just modern-day filtering of some of the things that went on back then, but I feel like some of the best footage was excluded. There is still LOTS of blood though so it isn't really a disappointment. I would have just liked to have seen more.

  ECW LIVES!!
Review created: 09/06/09

This DVD is awesome. I can't believe Vince McMahon let paul heyman say some of the things he did in this DVD. As usual, Paul told the truth abouth his baby, ECW. ECW was a driving force behind the now classic Monday Nite Wars. Now we find out why ECW failed which is because of money, and not having as much as Ted Turner or Vince McMahon. ECW changed wrestling as we know it. Not only with edgier material with violent matches and what not, but ECW brought WRESTLING back when WWE and WCW were just focused on creating cartoon characters and just focusing on trying to make stars no matter what. ECW forced the rest of the industry to change, and its for the better! It saddens me that some of their top stars, including Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit made their start there, only to leave for bigger and better things which forced them to get bigger and better. We all know the end result of that. This is a great DVD and is much better than some of WWE's other "true" DVDs. This is highly recommended for any wrestling fan, past or current.

  The Return of Extreme
Review created: 12/30/08

ECW! ECW! ECW!

This DVD chronicles the life of Extreme Championship Wrestling from the eyes of those who lived through, however brief the time. The documentary is told primarily by Paul Heyman, the man who promoted ECW until it's demise.
The documentary itself is wonderfully done, utilizing the WWE's great video library. Most of the extras are interesting and outlines some of the emotion and humor that was going on behind the scenes.
Where the DVD comes up short (just barely) is some of the match choices. I would like to see more matches (or at least higher profile matches), especially since there were so many WWE contracted wrestlers that came through ECW.

  Extremely Good DVD
Review created: 09/06/07

This DVD tells it all about ECW. I like how it talks about the early days of ECW when it was NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling and emerging to Extreme Championship Wrestling. I like when they show Shane Douglas throwing down the NWA world title for the ECW title. I was surpise to Kurt Angle arrive in ECW when during that episode showed the contreversial crucifixan between The Sandman and Raven. I liked how they explained fiancial problems and the collapse of ECW, esspecially when Paul Heyman gave that shoot interview on why he hated TNN for not backing up ECW program. I enjoyed the bonus DVD with classic matches and interviews with Tazz, Stevie Richards, etc. This is a must have for wrestling fans and ECW fans.

Amazing Stories, Accounts and Recaps From ECW
Review created: 09/11/06

This is a two disc set and a LONG one! The feature is very long, but never dull. You'll get the story of ECW...the rise and fall (go figure). You'll hear the story of how ECW changed it's promotion, changed the style of wrestling and changed the industry of wrestling FOREVER. The feature flows in a chronological order of ECW's life and you'll get the stories and comments from (almost) all of those who participated in it. Heyman, Tazz, Dreamer, McMahon, Bischoff and so many more will share candid remarks and comments as they discuss the progression of ECW. Just the story of ECW is worth while, but to get so many comments from so many people make this story much more personal. It's really amazing to understand and to feel what these people felt about ECW. It's also great because you'll get to see A LOT of clips - some rare, some not so rare - from ECW shows and PPVs. Unfortunately, the extras aren't as beefy as the feature presentation. There are several matches which are AWESOME - such as Tazz vs Bam Bam Bigelow! I just wish there were more matches on here. The matches, although few, are still great and you'll still be so thoroughly entertained by the biography portion that you'll love this DVD. I think anyone who didn't get to see the original ECW should get this DVD to see what the cult-like phenomenon was all about. If you were an original ECW fan, you'll love to see and hear the story from those who lived it, plus the matches will satisfy the part of you that craves ECW's glory days. Unless you completely hated ECW, you should get this DVD set.
