Dyson DC18 all floors Upright Cleaner

I've wanted a Dyson for quite awhile. I decided on the slim model and love it. It has great suction and is very easy to empty. It works great on my kitchen floor as well. The only drawback is the attachments are a little hard to use. I would definitely buy this product again, though. I would rather have an automatic retracting cord also.

I have bought Dyson DC18 from ebay.Used twice in last 2 weeks.
Extremely satisfied with it suction power. I could't believe that, I had that much dust & lint in my carpet. Noise is less than other cheap vaccum cleaner.
The movability of DC18 is very good, U can vaccum under your table without moving table as base of vaccum remained on ground even u bring down the handle.
Only the part I didn't like is handle.I feel its little .. long.
I love the movability of the head, only head particullarly while vaccuming in conjusted area.
I would say, its worth to have Dyson in your home.

Recently after buying a home which was mostly carpeted, my asthama began to bother me more than usually. Although, I would vacuum regularly, the 12 amp Eureka vacuum just didn't seem to help. Everytime I'd finish vacuuming, there would be dust all over the furniture that was probably being blow about by the vacuum. After getting fedup of the endless battle with dust, I decide to buy the Dyson DC18. Upon receiving the vacuum that claims to be one of the worlds best, we tried it on our pre-vaccuumed carpets. To our surprise, I emptied the Dyson twice (3 rooms only). Wow.. Dyson gets what other vacuums leave. My asthama is much better(for the most part I don't use the puffer so often).

I bought this vacuum off of ebay and even though it was a $100 more than the Bissel Healthy home I wouldn't trade it for anything. I have 2 cats and my roommate has 3 guineas and this vacuum gets up so much hair it is unbelievable. It has significantly helped my allergies, with my roommates old Dirt Devil I couldn't even be in the apartment when she vacuumed, this vacuum has been wonderful, it goes everywhere and as said previously if you suck up something a bit big it is a breeze to get to the area and pull it out. I would say this vacuum is definitely worth the money, and I will not go back to Bissel.

I have used many vacuumes in the past. Ever since using Dyson vacuumes, about 3 years ago, I have not -- could not -- utilize another vacuume brand. If you're like me and you want a job done correctly the first time around ... Dyson is the only way to go.
Not wanting to sound like a commercial for them ~ I still must say with the filter, new this and that, and all the crap they say of why it works so well really doesn't matter to me. BOTTOM LINE IS DYSON WORKS!

Regarding my particular model purchase:
The apartment carpets of where I live literally have the old ugly style of carpet. Dyson actually perked even the carpets here up making the fibers come up between my toes like it was plush.

That's real enjoyment - that's Dyson. Getting the job done right the first time around just like me (or your mom would tell you to do)

Like all new vacuums, it worked great the first time. Time will tell. Picked up LOTS of stuff and with the clear canister, you can see what you're picking up. A bit disappointed in all the plastic it's made of, but I expected it really. I do like the lighter weight and hope the promise of "no loss of suction" holds true. I bought a "Factory Serviced" one, so the price was a bit less than new. I'd recommend it.

This unit is amazing! We tested it against our current 3 year old top line Kenmore by vacuuming one 12 x 14 carpet room, and then going over it again with the Dyson. We were shocked how much more dirt it picked up! That said it all. The slimline is great too! We prefer to the larger unit I tried in the store. If I could find any fault, it would be that the slightly high pitch drives our dog crazy! He'll work it out!

I have 4 dogs and can't live without a Dyson. Each succesive model is more powerful than the previous. I've had a DC07 for 8 years and a DC14 for 2 years, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. The DC18 didn't disappoint me. I was pleasantly surprised at how small, light, and maneuverable it is. Unlike the full size DC07 and DC14, DC18 can practically turn on a dime and fits under a lot of furniture where the others don't. It's easier to carry up and down stairs. It has a kick plate making it easier to turn on, and the bare floor/carpet switch is right next to the on-off switch - no more having to change the control with my foot. The DC18 also does a much better job of vacuuming a bare floor - so I can avoid the hassle of attaching the floor tool. Power cord is shorter, and canister is a bit smaller, but I guess that contributes to making it lighter. Detaching the hose to reach corners, ceilings and crevices is also streamlined and very easy compared to the older models. I love this vacuum cleaner - and it almost makes vacuuming enjoyable.

Very easy to use, not as heavy as my old one, worked as a salesman and sold the earlier models, customers swore by them. I decided to purchase it because I needed something that works great and is easy for me to move around.

The Dyson DC18 is a awesome vacuum. Seen commercials on TV about how good the Dyson Vacuums are and was definately not disappointed.The ease at which the vacuum manuevers is awesome in my opinion.

I CAN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THIS PUCHASE - IT WAS DELIVERED QUICK, LOOKS GREAT, AND WORKS JUST LIKE I THOUGHT IT WOULD. THE ONLY THING NEGATIVE I CAN SAY IS NO INSTRUCTIONS WERE INCLUDED - BUT IT WAS PRETTY EASY TO FIGURE OUT... I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD EXPERIENCES WITH E-BAY AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM WITH OTHER MAJOR PURCHASES......

This is our second Dyson... we now have one for downstairs and one for upstairs.. after spending a bizzilion dollars over many years on all kinds of vacuums which promised to pick up dog hair, we FINALLY find a product which actually works! I would highly recommend the Dyson!!

Love the vacuum! Lightweight, yet powerful. Adjusts to any floor without pressing any buttons. Long hose to do stairs. Brush shuts off if something gets stuck and you just reset it and go. No broken belts. Bagless, Very easy to empty dirt into trashcan. Great Vacuum!

LOVE THE SUCTION! It's so strong that it actually fluffs up my 5 year old carpets so they look and feel brand new. Picks up all the cat hair, too. In fact, it picked up so much cat hair and dust that my house smells fresher. The first time I vacuumed with this, there was so much cat hair and carpet fiber, you'd think I hadn't vacuumed in years. I carried a trash bag with me around the house and emptied the canister after each room. Does a very good job on floors when you click the button to turn off the brush. Gets into corners well. I really like the articulating head. I'm used to a canister, so this is a little more difficult to steer, but it works so much better that I don't mind. Only downside is that emptying the canister is not entirely dust-free. If you have to bang out the cat hair or carpet fibers, you get a cloud of dust. I've had to use my fingers or a butter knife to get up in there to pull the hair out so it's best not to let the canister get too full or your house get too dirty. Honestly, I'm vacuuming more often because it's rewarding. I can actually see a difference.

I love this vacuum and highly recommend it. I have hardwood floors, linoleum and some carpet in my home and this vacuum works amazingly on all three surfaces. I have a dog that sheds constantly all year long and for the first time my vacuum actually gets all of the hair up out of the carpeted areas. It is so easy to use...light, moves around easily and has great features that I use all the time. I decided to buy it because I have always heard such great things about Dyson Vacuums in general. I had been skeptical because of the price, but after going through 3 Vacuums in 1 year I decided to give it a try.

My wife had a Kirby for 15 years, she and wanted a Dyson for a lighter sweeper for downstairs. After getting her new Dyson and using it the kirby went to goodwill. She loves it.

It is absolutely the best vacuum I've ever tried especially for mid-size (2000 to 3000 sqf) home.

I have hardwood and carpet on the floor together at each story and it works perfect on both. After some test, I could easily tell compared to my previous vacuum. What it collects is just 'much more' and with the same power of my old one it works more quietly. Even I felt something different on my bare foot walking on the carpet after cleaning. It doesn't scratch or tear any on the carpet but it simply eliminates dirts. The weight is reasonable, I mean, it is not very heavy nor very light. It is just proper enough for a lady, a young person and a senior.

One of the reasons of my purchase is actually for my kids. Hopefully it will avoid asthma from my kids. Genuine HEPA filter is my great preference.

Some things maybe Dyson could do better is,
1. to include 'Low reach floor tool' together. It is pricey to buy separately. 2. to put S/N tag at a place could be easily found.
3. 'reset' button for floor brush shouldn't be initialized every time it's turned on. Would be better to remember last status.
