Duke Nukem: Time to Kill (PlayStation, 1998)

Man, does this game rule. N-Space knew what they were doing when they made this gem. This game adds a new twist to the Duke genre. It plays much like Tomb Raider, but there's so many more things in Duke Nukem : TTK that makes it just plain cool. First off, the graphics. The graphics just plain rule. The levels and characters look realistic, as far as polygon models go. While there are some areas where graphic problems may occur, but this doesn't take away anything from the game play. I havn't seen many other games that have better graphics and realism. Next up, the weapons. Duke's arsenal makes any top quality gun shop look like a toy store. He's packin' RPG's and Flame Throwers and he's not afraid to use 'em. 'Nuff said. Next up, game intelligence. The enemies, while sometimes 'dumb', have above average AI. They patrol the areas, and if they see you, they'll start firing. They can dodge your bullets just as well as you can dodge theirs (or maybe even better). They'll sometimes retreat around corners if shot at, and they'll pop out, take a pot shot, and either pop back around the corner, or keep firing at you. The AI in this game was impressive. I've yet to see a game with better. Next, the play control. While at the beginning the third person perspective might be awkward for the PC gamers (it was for me) you'll be able to slide right in and start blasting away real fast. Once you get the controls down pat, you'll be able to blast off alien's heads before they can say DAMN. The aiming system, or 'sniper mode' as I've come to call it, comes in REAL handy when you're going for a quick kill from behind. Finally, the 'bells and whistles'. While being noted for being a bloody game, there is an option to tone it down for you wussies in the crowd who hate blood and violence in games :). Also, as usual, Duke talks. It's always fun to kill a Pig Cop and hear, "Now that's gonna leave a scar." All in all, this game is great. I'd recommend renting it first to see if you'd absolutely like it.

Always remember, though, that if you do buy it, you should HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!

I'm an avid game collector who is very picky about the overall condition of the game. Duke Nukem: Time To Kill is a PlayStation 1 game. The game overall was in great condition. The case, instructions and cd were all in near-mint condition. I bought the game because I'm an old gamer who owns a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Atari, and so on. Duke Nukem was a game I first played on the PC and the extremem language and graphics caught my eye right away. Killing Alien being is always fun and the what Duke Nukem will say after each level is always a nice surprise.

Anything Duke can't be bad right? Well that depends on how much you love the character. Duke always did his best stuff in the First Person Mode. But this wasn't a bad start in the 3rd Person View. Of the three Duke Nukem games made for the Playstation. Duke Nukem - Time to Kill falls into the second best catagory. The controls for Duke in the Third Person take alittle getting used to. If you played enough Tomb Raider games though, it wont be a giant leap. Problem is, from the first Duke Nukem game, you are used to moving fast. Duke in Third Person requires a change in gears. You gotta love the adult themes that all Duke Nukem games bring to the table tastefully. Just enough to entertain us adults without making it an adult game only. You've gotta love the corny one-liners Duke spites out as he's ventilating bad guys. The shear number of weapons you get to play with gives you so many ways to creatively blow-up bad guys.
The graphics of this game really show their age, especially when compaired to the modern games coming out today. But it doesn't matter, this game was made with good play mechanics and a good story-line that pulls it through, even today. If all you want are the hottest graphics, don't waste your money on this one, but this is still a classic that begs to be played every once in a while. This game is definitely better than it's last installment of the Duke Series on the Playstation. Duke Nukem- Planet of the Babes might be harder to find and more expensive, but Time to Kill is more creative and more serious fun to be had. I only grabbed Planet of the Babes so I would have everything Duke on my Playstation 2. PC's offer everything great for Duke, but I could never get used to controlling him on a PC. As far as Duke on entertainment systems, Playstation almost got every game they're of him. They only other system to snag him that I know of was the Nintendo 64 with Duke Nukem Zero. Unfortunally I HATE-HATE-HATE the Nintendo 64's controller (this is where Nintendo lost me Forever.). Never mess with the scheme of a great controller and if you do for a next gereration system, remember to give the gamer the choice to buy the old style controller for the next system.
Duke Nukem easily falls into the catagory of great classic along with DOOM, Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider Series (I-III), Warhawk, Colony Wars and many others for the Playstation. For every jewel of a game Playstation came out with, there was usually ten more bombs. When a game went right, all was good with the world and it was always worth weeding through all the stinkers to get to them. Don't pass on Duke Nukem - Time to Kill if you are a Duke fan, for this is one of the many jewels on the Playstation. Not the best, but one never the less.- James...

Duke Nukem kicking ass all over time? What's not to like? You gotta love how Nukem chases down those scum who put the earth in peril time and again... not only on the surface of the earth... the universe... but time itself? How could anyone not like the greatest hero of all time?

what can you expect from a duke nukem game? typical alien blastin, babe booty shakin trash talking duke nukem action! the story line? who cares. just blast alient and listen to the classic one liners. great game, definitely worth picking up especially for a fan of the classics.

I bought this excelent game for my son and he told me that is an excelent game, now we have problem to take him at the desk for dinner, he prefer be playing PS2.

Anything with Duke Nukem is awesome! Love the game! This is a great PS1 game and you can have loads of fun with it. Duke Nukem is my favorite video game character and I tend to like to collect Duke Nukem stuff.

who doesn`t enjoy wasting some alien pigs . this game is great ! you get to use weapons like pipe bombs to disintergrate the little buggers who took over duke`s favorite night club , most things break , hidden things to find along your path through this game and even more aliens to punish for ruining duke`s day. kinds puzzling areas , survial , secrets ... buy the game and enjoy

I collect vide games and e-bay has been an excellent place to find really hard to find games for an excellent price. I would recomend to anybody that's looking for anything collectible to search on e-bay first!

I bought this game for my grandson,and i play with him a lot of the time.the game is alot of fun with a lot of different levels. my grandson really likes shooting all the pig's.

The sony playstation game cd did not work at all, had polish paste around edges
and lots of scratchs on playing side. Contacted seller with this problem and
didn't get any replay. Seller stated game had been tested before I bid on it.
