Description: It is difficult to overcome the suspicion that DUETS: THE FINAL CHAPTER, the Notorious B.I.G.'s second posthumous "studio" release, is a blatant case of opportunism. The late rapper's legend towers so hugely over the hip-hop landscape, a...

R.I.P. Notorious B.I.G. - We Miss You!

First and foremost I would like to say that if you are a fan of hip-hop and rap then you need to own this album. Many of today's young hip-hop fans (under 16) have no clue about Biggie Smalls. He is/was the greatest rapper of all time and his legacy will live on.

This album has unbelievable songs. Most albums I'll listen to while shuffling through the tracks. I think of the total 18-19 songs, only 2 of them I don't care for. The only negative thing about this album is the person I respect so much for it - Diddy (formerly Puff Daddy and P. Diddy).

The fact is, Diddy could have put this album out years ago. It shows that he put a lot of hard work into this last tribute to the late-great Notorious. My only criticism is that Diddy needs to step off of the microphone and stick to the production board. His rapping styles differ on the 3-4 songs he participates in...as if he's having someone else write his lyrics for him. I love Biggy - but Diddy got close to ruining this album for me. Although I did give it a 5, Diddy needs to realize that he is not a rapper.

Now that I've said my peace about Diddy, I want to say go buy this album. It is a double CD (though, only shipped on 1 CD, convenient) and you can bet that much of the royalties will go to Biggie's two children and mother. Although Diddy cannot rap, he remembered what Biggie has always preached "Keep your family tight". One thing is for sure - Diddy will take care of his people no matter what.

To Biggy...
We love you and miss you very, very much.

Half of the people on this album Big would have never given the light of day. This is a pure molestation of the works of a genius. The beats are horrendous on most of the songs and the lyrics are all cropped. Complete crap! Don`t waste you money.

  Reasons for buying this CD
Review created: 09/01/07(updated 09/06/07)

Honestly the only reason I bought this CD was so I can complete my never-ending 2Pac collection. The song featuring 2Pac is "Living In Pain" and is yet another remix of the original song. The original song title is "House Of Pain" and not only had BIG and 'Pac, but also featured Strech from Live Squad.
I also think Strech produced the original but is not mentioned in the credits (How weak). Well, here's hoping 2Pac's mom one day releases a box set of all the original tracks 2Pac recorded with the original beats and rappers. 2Pac is the greatest, period...
