I had heard about the book Duct Tape Marketing off and on for quite a few years. Recently it was recommended again during a coaching webinar and so I thought to myself, “how many times do I need to get hit over the head to get it?” And so I got/bought it.
The opening page reads “The World’s Most Practical Small Business Marketing Guide.” Quite a few people get excited about going into business for themselves. They find the product, do the legal work, set up shop or web site and then wait the customers to come knocking or surfing to their door. The buyers won’t come if they don’t know you’re their. Marketing is the engine that drives the bus. Unfortunately is the least understood small business skill. Duct Tape Marketing outlines steps and strategies and is full of ideas. Unlike so many others this system has been proven to work no matter what kind of business you have. It’s so highly thought of that it has been acknowledged in Forbes magazine for small businesses. This book has solid core business ideas that are not fly-by-night and is very readable. In addition to the book Duct Tape Marketing has a great blog which keeps up to date information.
