The Duchess of Duke Street - The Complete Collection (DVD, 2008)

Story was skillfully done with a wonderful mixture of history and fiction. Great acting, beautiful Edwardian scenes. Shows the viewer both sides of the culture of the Edwardian times. Great series.

It was everything I expected it to be! I bought it as a gift for my mother who absolutely LOVED the show. The Region was right, it was brand new as promised. This is a great show that is easy to love.

The first DVD of the series had separated from the packaging and the center had scratched the DVD making it skip in many, many sections...no way to understand what's going on. A subsequent DVD skipped almost all of Episode #5, which I can tell is a critical episode to the story. I know this is meant to be a review of the content of the DVD set, but if you can't watch it because the set quality is so poor...how can you have an opinion?

Bought this for my wife who used to watch it on TV.She loved it and I enjoyed it as well!The quirky story of a cook's apprentice who became the owner of a fine hotel in victorian times and through WW1 and beyond.Good enough to watch over and over again!
