  Chan is my hero

Love this one. I saw the remake for it titled "The Legend of The Drunken Master" that he redid for an American audiance, and just had to own the original. I enjoy this one better because it shows him learning the drunken boxing techniques, and displays endless humor. If you like Gorden Liu, Chow Yun Fat, and Tony Jaa movies, then this early Jackie Chan one is something to own.

  Great Action

The story is about Jackie Chan who need to learn some discipline, and the only way to have that is to beat the heck out of him. After causing nothing but trouble, his father send him to train with his uncle to teach him the art of Drunken Boxing. This movie has an almost constant stream of fighting and action, as well as the many crazy stunts that Jackie usually performs while dodging attacks by flipping around tables and chairs.

The classic drunken master where Jacky Chan really was noticed for his films and onward. Movie is hilarious! The Kung Fu is more organic in this movie because the directors gave Chan more freedom to be himself as a martial artist and as an actor. if you love Kung Fu movies than you have got to own this one. Its definitely One of the Best Kung Fu Classics!

  Original Kung-Fu comedy

I saw parts of this movie on Tv and had to by the DVD. I really enjoyed watching Jackie Chan when he was in his early 20's. His strength, humor and facial expressions are classic. This movie is a must for any Jackie Chan fan, the cheesy sound effects when the martial artists are striking the air are great. The only thing I didn't care for is that english was dubbed some of the time and not others. I would have liked if the DvD gave an option of having the english dubbed on or off.

his movie is really silly. If you want to see a young Jackie Chan in a Kung Fu classic this movie is for you. The dubbing is horrible, the picture is splotchy and the plot is made of cardboard. Nevertheless, this is a great DVD if you like to watch kung fu. Best watched with friends and a few beers, you can chat between fight scenes and make fun of the wooden dialouge.

This is OBVIOUSLY an early film & even though there were subtitles, it's no exception to Chan's hilarity & comedic timing! If you're a Chan fan, this would be a great addition to your collection!
Thanks so much for your time & God bless!!

  Drunken Master
Review created: 03/03/08

Drunken Master is quite possibly Jackie Chan's best movie, if you ask me. The fight sequences and styles presented in this movie are absolutely remarkable. The characters are very humorous with slap-stick gags, bizarre looks, and cheesy lines, which is another thing I love about this movie! This movie is definately a must-have for any serious DVD collection.

This is a classic Jackie Chan Kung fu flick. One of his best. Follows the tale of the mischievous son of a kung fu master. Even with all the punishments and training his father puts him threw his son can’t seem to stay out of trouble. In a last ditch effort to “break the demon” in his son, Jackie Chan is sent to do intense training with his uncle only to find that the secret kung fu training will one day save his and his father’s life.

To make matters worse, Mr. Li (Fung Ging Man), the father of a bully that Fei Hung had beat up on the same day demands justice for the offense. Along with enduring long hours of difficult kung fu stances, Fei Hung's punishment is to learn kung fu from his great uncle, Su Hua Chi (Simon Yuen), a beggar and drunkard known for his harsh training methods.

Absolute best martial arts movie ever filmed!
Review created: 09/26/05

I've seen this movie over 100 times! This combines Jackie Chan's comic style with high quality martial arts fighting. Most viewers will probably not like it the first time. The film is definitely not high-budget, film quality is not digital-perfect and the english audio-dubbing is the usual...

However, if you really like the classic storyline of a young, bratty martial arts student who:

1. Loses family member.
2. Gets mad, but can't do anything about it.
3. Trains up through brutal martial arts training.
4. Gets revenge.

then, you must own this movie!!!!
