Driver (PlayStation, 1999)

This is my absolute favorite game of all time. I have every Driver game that has been realeased so far. The only bad thing on this game was not being able to get out of your car.

The graphics on this game will blow you away! Excellent!

This is an awsome game for Playstation One. The game has killer graphics for its time back in the late 90's. Even though some of the levels are really hard, its still really fun to play. Cops chasing you, burning out, speeding, and all the other fun stuff you're not allowed to do in real life, all that is enjoyed in every level. That's why it's part of the greatest hits collection. The game is also not too violent compared to most of the games today, so it's user friendly to some of the younger ages even though it's got a teen rating. Have fun when you play it, I know I did!!

One of my very favorite PlayStation games, in Driver you are the getaway driver for a criminal network that specialises in theft, murder and deception.
You'll drive through real cities like Miami, San Francisco, New York & Los Angeles doing missions in an unfolding storyline. Or you can set it to Free Style and just go out bang 'em up, with realistic simulated damage. But watch out: the cops are on patrol too!

This is an ok game but I just stopped playing it after the first level because i could not get past it so it is just a confusing driving grad theft auto ripp-off. So if you like driving games, then this might be ok

Driver was an old favorite of mine on the PS1. Great music and very fun to play. Disc, case and manual arrived in perfect condition and in great time!

This is wonderful game that came out for Play Station 1 - The graphics aren't top of the line like today's games, but when it first came out, it was pretty good for home gaming entertainment. I was first introduced to this game one night at a friends house and I'd say that we played this this for hours until end! It was pretty cool to try to "run" from the cops and see just how long we could keep getting away from them. I still play this game here and there whenever I can get a chance; someday I'm going to try the other versions of this game soon.

MY 13 YEAR OLD SON REALLY ENJOYS THIS GAME. HE COMPLIMENTS ON THE ACTION AND OVERALL GAME. I AM HAPPY THAT HE FINALLY REALIZES A GAME DOES NOT HAVE TO BE VIOLENT OR HAVE BAD LANGUAGE TO BE WORTHY. OVERALL HE RATES THIS 7 ON A SCALE OF 1-10. AS A MOM I SAY 10 DUE TO THE CONTENT IT DOES NOT HAVE SUCH AS SEXUAL CONTENT, VIOLENCE, AND LANGUAGE.

this game was in excellent conditions! everything was in order, the booklet, the case and the disc, in mint condition. it was a great collector's item since it was the original edition(not those "Best Sellers", or "Players' Choice" sucky editions with the green stripe)

TERRIBLE!!!! I HATE this game for many reasons first of all the missions are unbarably Borring bad graphics tell you the truth there isn't one part of this game that isn't terrible DO NOT BUY!!!!

My original disc was used when I bought it with scratches on it and I was having to reset the console a lot. now with the new disc it plays without freezing the console. I like being able to continue the series.

The graphics on Driver 2 should have been a lot better than the graphics on Driver 1. Some of the events should have been more automatic than manual but it still is worth it to me to play.

Totally sweet game at a sweet price! All other games do not compare when you try "Survival". Apparently eBay want over 100 characters for this review, but I do not feel like it.

For a person who collects old games. Graffics VERRY old, game uninteresting to me. Not as good as I thought it would be. Very fast shipping though.

I bought this game around the time it came out, and I have liked it ever since. I'll admit, I don't like it for the story mode. I haven't even beaten the story mode! But what I do like is the take a drive part of the game. It's you, the roads, other cars, and the cops. It's fun putting this game in my old PS1 just to drive around and see if I can get away from the cops before my car gets totaled! There aren't many other games like it! In how many games do you get to take a muscle car out to terrorize the streets? Not many. The cops only make it more fun and interesting! They ram you, they try to turn you around, they setup road blocks, etc. If you're a good driver, you can have a lot of fun getting away from the cops. It isn't easy, though, and damage can add up quickly! I'd stay off the highways if I were you!

In the take a ride mode, there is practically unlimited freedom. You can go wherever you want in the large cities. You can duck away from the cops in parking garages, you can hide out in people's garages, get lots of air jumping bridges or in San Fransisco, etc., etc., etc. There's just so much to do.

And if you're not a great wheel man (yet), there are cheat codes you can enter that make you invincible and so on. The only other game like this would be Driver 2, which is better yet (because you can get out of your car and take a different one when the heat is coming down on you too hard). But Driver 2 aside, this game is just about as fun. I could easily spend hours playing it to this day, after owning it for all of these years. Heck, maybe someday I'll actually finish the story mode, LOL. But the take a drive mode did it for me. That was just plain fun! Exploring the cities while being chased by the cops... that's fun stuff. If you wanted, you could just drive slow and never get caught, but what fun would that be?

I give this game a 5 out of 5. It is definitely one of my favorite Playstation games, and is surly one of the games I have played the most! Lots and lots of fun for all ages! Very highly recommended!

Pretty good game. Had not played the game before purchase. Game was as described by the seller. Son likes the game and is far better than I am at it. Would recomend this game to anyone who enjoys driving games.

I just loved the way the car handles in the game, very realistic and allows for some creative driving.

This game also has great "games" in addition to the storyline. Though I have never been able to finish it.....

I bought the original Playstation console game Driver and am not entirely impressed with it. It handles like many other video games, ie: Gran Turismo, which is mainly why I don't like it much. I enjoy driving video games that handle like Nintendo's Mario Kart series. Basically, if you're a fan of Gran Turismo and can deal with sub-par graphics (compared to today's standard) then Driver is a good game choice for you. If you're more of a Mario Kart fan, shy away from Driver.

As always, Driver is an awesome game and a great starter game for those who get a playstation. Get this before you move up to games like midnight club :D
