This book has been reprinted a view times, it is THAT good!

I have given this book to my sons during the years, so they can see how the comic books they like are created.

I was fortunate to meet John Buscema once at the SDCC and have him sign some FF comics that he drew. He was a great artist!

'Nuff Said !

THE ultimate book for learning to draw comic books...
Review created: 07/17/06
2 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Kids try to emulate comic artists all the time. They want to draw their favorite character. This book, HOW TO DRAW COMICS THE MARVEL WAY, is better than copying from other artists...it teaches the techniques to draw your own stuff. Some simple tricks will improve your abilities immediately.

A book or two I'd add to your library, also, would be books by Burne Hogarth (the prolific Tarzan Artist) who illustrated many anatomy books for figure and face.

Copy from life and phots and make stuff up yourself.

Enjoy this awesome book. Rob G.

  Great Seller

Thank you thank you for the package and for being right on time. Stan Lee is revered by comic book fans for creating Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, and other fresh superheroes of the 1960s. Lee became editor of Marvel Comics (then Timely Comics) shortly after his service in World War II. The company was overshadowed by rival D.C. Comics (home to Superman) but in the 1960s Lee made Marvel into a comics powerhouse by introducing conflicted, wisecracking superheroes and thats why you and Stan are awesome.

I first acquired the book many years ago, probably when first released. I recalled it having many helpful hints and decided to re-acquire it. It's a must have for al aspiring comic book artists.

I owned this book when I was young and started drawing super heroes. That was about 30 years ago and it taught me a lot about shading, and drawing the human figure using different views. Now my 7 year old son has started drawing every chance he can, so I purchased this book for his birthday next month. I think he will love it!

The best how to draw book for comic art
Review created: 06/06/08
by:

I first owned How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way when I was about nine years old in the late 1980's, and thought it was a pretty good guide on how to draw. Now that I'm older (and I hope wiser) I realize that it is more than a "pretty good" guide. Over the years I've owned a lot of different books on "How to Draw Comics" by various companies and people, and none of them hold a candle to this guide. John Buscema might be the most underrated artist in the history of comics, and his art was clean and crisp and you almost never hear his name mentioned by anyone when great artists are discussed. Other books show you picture and tells you that how you do it, but this book shows you several different pictures so you can see the actual development process. If anyone is interested in getting involved in drawing comics or just drawing their own comics for fun, this book is the best there is.
