I like how the McCaffrey books always seem to have stories of different people, but yet they sound so familar. I have read all of the Dragonriders of Pern series and as always can't wait for the next book. I was so eager to read Dragon's Kin that I bought it in hardback. I usually wait for the cheaper editions. It was well worth the cost.

) I really like how this book tells the story of the watch-whers and the roll they play on Pern. Something that has not been discussed in previous books about Pern and the creation of the dragons and the watch-whers from the native fire lizards.

Having read every Pern book I can get my hands on I was thrilled to find this one. It's very true to the storyline of previous books, and gives an insight to another aspect of the life on Pern. I would have liked to see more of the dragons actually be part of the story but the inclusion of them in part of the story seemed just the right touch. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who is a lover of the world of Pern. Anne McCaffrey's son has taken up the reins and is an able driver bringing his own vision of the story.
