This book is the second of six books the seventh comes out in sept of 2009. It continues the story of Jamie and Clair and answers more questions. It also raises more questions. To be answered in the next books. I feel as though these people are real and my friends. A wonderful book.

Great adventure\romance series.
) If you like adventure\romance this is a must read. I have only read the first three so far but it’s a great series and I will continue to read it. Diana Gabaldon has a way stirring your emotions and taking you with her on the adventure that is becoming rare among writers today.

Jamie Frasier is the most romantic character EVER!!!This is the second in a series that follows a group of characters through time travel. It's a love story between Claire Randall & Jamie Frasier. These books have been my favorites for several years. I decided to buy this hardback book because I've worn out my paperbacks. All of these books are long, but they are worth the read -- and re-read. The first time I finished the first book in this series I read into the wee morning hours. I was sitting on the couch with tears running down my face. As I finished page 900-something, I turned it right around and started again on page 1. These stories are great! I reccomend them to anyone.

Dragonfly in AmberAgain, I love this series and I think Diana Gabaldon is a fantastic author. She has put in the pages of her books a man and woman we might all identify with in one way or another. There is pain and joy and I have read few books, especially a long series, that have held my interest with every page as this one has. I highly recommend it.

This is the best book I've ever read! I couldn't put it down and now I'm happily reading the other books in the series. What a great adventure. I have fallen in love with the characters. Diana Gabaldon weaves a story and the characters in such a way that makes you feel like your part of the story. I highly recommend this book.

This lady knows how to tell a story. As far-fetched as the story line seems, it pulls you in and you can't put the book down. I wait with excitement for each new book by this author. Anyone who is into fictional historical romance or time travel stories will fall in love with Jamie & Claire as I have.

This book is another in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Not only did I like the love story between Claire Randall and Jamie Frasier, her Scottish Highlander, but I also loved the look into the daily life of living in the 1700's and all the historic background the series covers from the Scottish uprising in 1745 and all its consequences through the American Revolution. There are two more books in the series now and Claire and Jamie have moved to the new world and the American Revolution is approaching in "The Fiery Cross". I assume the latest book, "A Breath of Snow and Ashes", will take Claire and Jamie further into the encroaching war and give more insight into living in the wilderness. The only dislike of any of the books is, that while they are long, they are much too short. Each book leaves you wanting to read more. FYI-there are two dustjackets for this particular novel. One has roses and a plaid and a newer printing with just a single gold goblet.
