will quietly change the way you view the world

The Dragon Slayer With A Heavy Heart – A Powerful Story About Finding Happiness and Serenity...Even When You Really, REALLY Wish Some things Were different, Marcia Powers, 2003. Wilshire Book Company, North Hollywood, California. Here it is! If I had only one book to recommend to you this year, it would be The Dragon Slayer With A Heavy Heart! Have you ever slapped your forehead and yelped the Simpson’s “Doh!”? This tongue in cheek, humorous novel will have you doing this all afternoon. Marcia Powers really wants you to lead a fabulous life with straight thinking, serenity, and happiness. But she is not willing to thump you over the head with it! So she sets this story of Duke the Dragon Slayer in a nebulous time somewhere between here and there, with fanciful characters such as dragons around every corner, cheering villagers, the boys at the juice bar, an ineffable Blue Bird of Happiness, and, of course, the necessary smattering of “teachers” along the way. Duke is most definitely a drama king as he begins his journey to serenity and everything is EVERYONE else’s fault. Very crooked thinking. Through story telling exaggeration and the most profound lessons in life written in simple sentences like so much spice in a stew, Powers will quietly change the way you view the world. Buy it for yourself and everyone you know who suffers from “crooked thinking!”
