This highly amusing book is a twist on several fairy tales. Except this time it's twins being cursed by the evil enchantress. Goodness is "blessed" with goodness and Jasleth turns into a raven for an hour each day. Goodness soon bankrupts the kingdom and has goats living in the royal palace. Jasleth sets off to find his fortune in another kingdom and possibly find a princess at the same time. He runs into Prince Fearless who is off on a quest to regain the fabulous lost jewels of the Dragon's Hoard. Will the fifty princes aboard the Quest succeed? Not with Maligna giving them advice, mucking with the weather and in general causing mayhem. They run into many troubles and trials along the way thanks to Maligna and her friends. The fifty princes come to the forefront in ways they never imagined they would and save the day. Will Jasleth and Fearless regain the dragon's treasure and who will marry Princess Poppy-Lily and her peacocks? Will the princes figure out Jasleth is the raven giving them advice and help?

This is a fun light hearted book written in true Tanith Lee style. What a fun book for a rainy day. I think I'll read it again! I'd recomend this book for everyone old and young who loves a good fairy tale gone wrong!
