This seems like one of those books that is tried-and-true; I feel very comfortable with the advice in it. It's almost like having a trusted doctor at my fingertips, whenever I need it. Get the newest edition that you can, as the book that I'm reviewing is the 8th edition. I say that because it's been revised over and over.

Very useful book, great gift too!

very helpful bookThis book is very well prepared, it offers advise on very common questions a mom may have in raising her child. The information is given in a very friendly manner, its clear and concise. The subjects are listed and easy to research. I would recommend this book, especially to new moms.

Excellent book
) I am the mother of 4, ages 20 years down to 7 years. I was also a child care provider for 18 years. I cannot begin to tell how many times I reached for the advice from Dr. Spock. It is written in an easy to understand manner. I had to buy a second book because the first one got worn out. Now I purchase this book for every baby shower I attend.

I bought the book for my daughter who is expecting her first baby. I worked with Robert Needlman while he was in the process of doing this book. I thought it would be special since I could have him write an inscription. I was however disappointed as the book arrived in a damaged condition. After inquiring about a return I was told that I could return it but that I would not recieve a replacement copy. Needless to say I was very disappointed because I really wanted to have a copy of the book. I have yet to hear back about a refund.
