Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat (DVD, 2004, Widescreen Edition)

This is a funny movie! The characters are silly. Kids love the movie. There are a few jokes adults will get too--which aren't too blatant that kids will catch. Alec Baldwin does a good job being funny without trying to be. It mixes all the right elements to be a fun movie to watch.

Absolutely no one (but me!)in our family wanted to watch this movie after seeing the terrible reviews it initially received. My husband and I grew up reading the Dr. Seuss series of books and I really wanted my son (14) and niece (4) to experience the joy of Dr. Seuss so I insisted on a full blown movie night with popcorn, snacks and all of us snuggled up on the couch! Everyone LOVED the movie! We were all surprised at how clever and funny it was. Mike Myers was perfectly cast in the role. The children were a delight. Lots of funny lines that we still say to each other and the special effects were just amazing! We initially rented the movie and once it was returned everyone said we HAVE to buy it. I purchased a brand new/still sealed Dr.Seuss'The Cat In The Hat DVD from a favorite ebay seller...lexilulustarr... for around $5.00. It was a wonderful deal/steal and worth every penny seeing as how it brought our entire family together for a night of fun and laughs. I know many have seen this already, but honestly, either it never really interested me or else I never had the chance to watch it. It's a 2004 film and the first time I watched it was in Jan 2009. Its a VERY GOOD MOVIE, VERY COLORFUL(LOL), kept my interest from beginning to end, and is quite comical. I enjoyed it very much and would watch it again, as we own it now. Mike Myers played a GREAT PART. I think if anyone else besides someone like Mike Meyers or Jim Carrey were to play the part, I may not have enjoyed it.

GOOD FOR ALL AGES! VERY COLORFUL and ACTION FILLED for the younger ones.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!

It is hilarious comedy, with some lines that have become our family favorites - like "dirty hoe", and "Hi, Nevins, time to die". It was panned at release time, but we find it very funny. My early teen girls find it very amusing, but probably younger children would not.

Not a movie for little one's, better suited for teenagers and adults if you are into Dr. Seuss. No bad performance by MM but just the not most suitable script for kids.

Opening up the imagination of a child is a great quality in any movie. This movie definately has that quality. Not only will the small children in the family love, the child in every adult will too.

I absolutely love this movie!!! The quick whitted cat is a hoot. My son originally had this on VHS but because our VHS quit working, he requested I order it for him on DVD. There are a couple sayings that may be a bit racey for children in this flick, but other than that, this movie is great for people of any age.

Mike Myers is hilarious in this movie! He entertains kids and adults! Definately worth watching! My kids love watching it, and it never seems to get old!

The movie has two well known stars (Mike Myers and Alec Baldwin) that play almost-unrecognizable characters. However, the personalities of the actors come through and make the movie. Our family loves it!

My 2 year old daughter is in love with this movie- every day she points at her tv or the one in our living room and says "hat?"- For awhile we watched this dvd in the living room on a daily basis- and I actually didnt mind it half the time its a cool movie even thogh its a kid movie, but then again i grew up reading dr suess books....Now we also have the movie on vhs so my daughter can watch it at will in her own room!! No dislikes about it all- A++; I originally bought the movie i guess for 1) I had never seen it before 2) It looked like a kids movie that adults can enjoy too (like Shrek or soemthing) 3) I bought it for a penny from one of my dvd dealers

my daughter absolutley loves this movie so we just had to have it. Thanks to e-bay and the seller we were able to make that happen.

This movie arrived quickly, and was in brand new condition. My daughter is thrilled! She enjoyed watching the movie, which had its cover also in mint conditon. I would highly recommend this seller to everyone.

Already have on VHS, but am trying to also increase my DVD collection. Price was terrific for a fairly popular movie.

Love it! lots of adult humor that younger kids won't get. Although a bit rambuctious for toddlers- preschoolers seem to like the all of the action and seeing Dr. Seuss Characters come to life-

This has been just an entertaining and awesome move for my grandson. We definately would love to see move movies like this one.

we have this movie on vhs and my kids love the movie but we don't own a vhs player no more so i just had to get this for them i all so like the movie something the kids and i can sit down and watch together.

I love the movie, it bring backs memory's when i was younger reading Dr.Seuss books. I also got this movie because when i first watch it it was so funny and cute, and it was the first movie my mother didn't fall asleep during watching it.

My 4 year old daughter wanted this movie. She just loves it. She watches it once a day if not more. It is a cute movie for kids.
