Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show - Live (DVD, 2005)

This dvd was made overseas somewhere. I think Germany. Anyway, the reason I bought it is because my hubby and I had just re-discovered Dr. Hook's music and we wanted to see how they acted and interacted with each other live. We had heard about their "crazy antics" on stage. Well, they're crazy alright; or stoned...or maybe both! LOL Anyway, we enjoyed being able to watch them at a live recording. Our only sorrow is they stopped singing Slyvia's Mother right in the middle of the song...said they and everyone else was sick of hearing it.

You either know Dr. Hook or you don't. I am a long time fan and loved this live concert! Total treat!!!!! Yea!!!!

This is a fun dvd. i love the older pre 1980 dr. hook. this film shows excellent raw live no holds barred music. they seemed to be having a pretty good time, probably the booze and or drugs but the music still sounds awesome. the sound and picture quality for this old of a concert was excellent. i would highly reccomend this dvd for anyone who loved the rock bands of the late sixties and early seventies. 5 stars.

If you like to see a raw classic rock preformance that is unedited this is a show you might like. The voices of the guys when they sing were great . The banter and talking inbetween songs was a bit slired (To much partying before the concert I suspect.)Its an Average dvd video but it was nice seeing the band in the very early days.

I am a huge Dr. Hook fan...I did enjoy watching the DVD but I think that there are better performances of the band that could have been used. I really am glad that I bought the DVD!

I have seen the group perform many times live, and on TV. I thought the tape was "dry" compared to the Hook performances I have seen and lacked the usual humor and "Charisma" I was accustomed to. Could it be because the tape was filmed in England? Do not know? Seemed like the group was not prepared prior to taping and it was not edited? Also thought the tape was short. Would have liked a longer tape. But it is the only thing us "HOOKERS" have left of the group, so enjoy.

i like music i got about 4000.LP disc and many dvd and the cd. my land have not dr,hook dvd`` because paid buck~~sad story%&*@#~~~

It takes you back in time to watch a good live band. Lots of fun, the Cover of Rolling Stone is a classic.

Not much live footage circulates of this late and great hippie/country rock band so this dvd is such a nice find! A live studio performance recorded overseas captures the band in a very lively setting. Joking around, laughing and jamming on a few of their most well known tunes. A bit short, yes but still well worth a watch!

Just what I expected of Dr hook in the 70's. I seen them in 1982 and they put on a great, fun show. An early years Dr Hook fan will like this one!!

Incredible video of a very talented, very stoned band having fun. If you grew up on Dylan and Helm, this video shows what the real 70's were like.

I hate to say this, but this dvd was a big waste of money, it is a terrible display of the main people in the band just screwing around, if you watch close it looks like some in the band are not happy with the way others are acting in it. I wish I had seen it prior to buying because there is no way I would have spent money on it. I like doctor hook and would still like to buy their music, but this dvd is a big let down.

Great Group Southern Rock really enjoyed been long time since I saw a live
preformance.Had some wonderful times at there concerts.

I just love to see those crazy guys at their peak. The concert is just one big laugh with a lot of good music. A must for Dr. Hook fans

I just love this band, but I was really disappointed in them and their promoters to allow such a drunken display of their talents to be promoted. This band is my all time favorite..I had seen them in concert 3 times and was anxious to reminisce all their good songs, but I was embarrassed for them on this sad representation they displayed of themselves in this dvd. They had so many great concerts that they could have rewarded the public worth..the promoters were just trying to make money with scraps that belonged on the floor or in the trash.
