This book isn't called "The Bible" without merit. I went from an average player to well above average in the short time it took me to read this book. I still read through it now from time to time to refresh my memory.
It contains in depth info on all popular types of poker. If you're looking for the essentials, this book will lay the foundation for an excellent hold'em game.

Doyle's super system is a rare breed among poker books, it is both very well written and it has top notch advice.
There is a clarity about the writing that is missing in nearly all poker books; most of them are written in stilted technical terms and are hard to read, it is always easy to see what Doyle is saying.
Pick almost any page from this classic, read it and you will have learned something. If you can't learn from a guy who's been around as long as Doyle, who can you learn from?

The book is very insightful on the many games of poker. I especially saw a difference in my playing and my whole concept on what poker is and how to become a winner at the great game. Doyle teaches the basics as well as some more advanced level nuances of the game and the great thing about it is, he is the first one to do it, so in short this is like the Bible but for poker.

What can you say about this book? He is the king of poker and must of made a lot of people angry when they read that he was giving away so many trade secrets. What a great book, I would recommend to any and all to read, but only if you plan on ever winning at poker.

I really enjoyed this book. I wished it was strickly about Texas Holdem and did not have all of the other poker games in it. But when I got to the Texas Holdem section it was everything that I had hoped for.

This is the classic poker book and is a must read for every budding poker star. It gives you the basics and enough advanced tips to get started strong. Then you just need to keep playing. It also covers many games, not just texas holem.

A book that is more then just beginners. A must have if u play poker. You will learn something everytime you read it

I bought this book for my son who loves to play Texas Holdem. He states the book is fantastic, great author, very insightful and will definitely improve your game.

First and Foremost I have to say in no way am I educated enough on the subject of journalism or poker to give an academic review of Super System. Thank god this isn't political science quarterly. So for those intermediate poker players or those who want a fresh look at poker I recommed this book. By most stanards this is the greatest book ever written on the subject. However like Citizen Cane and The Republic there are certain nuiances that only the true fanatic can appreciate. It covers the standard games (holdem, limit holdem, 7 card stud, low ball, razz, and deuce to seven.) Doyle does a great job of assembling a team of professional poker players. He allows them to give their tried and true experiences of poker the way it used to be. Some of the rules have changed but the basic strategy is more still there. It interesting to hear some of the jargon that they use. They created the terms that we so commonly hear on tv today. As I said earlier I this is a good book and a good buy. If you are a newby to the game I might hold off and try something a little more modern this book might confuse you in a home game or even at the casino. But if you been on the band wagon for about a year or if your game is really stale give these legend a try you'll be more than satisified.

I wanted to read about Hold Em and there was good information on it but not too many pages. The book covered all types of poker games. I want to learn all different poker games eventually but right now I am focused on Hold Em. I bought the book because of the great price.

To what could be the next best, GREAT BOOK! You will love this book it's like reading Joel Olsteen really

The book is perfect!! Great condition, nearly new. No complaints on the product. The shipping did take a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait because it was such a great value!!!

Simply, a must-have for any poker player. Extremely in-depth read in many games of poker including No-Limit Texas Hold'em and Limit Texas Hold'em. This is, however, not a book for beginners. Start out learning basic strategy with Ken Warren's Texas Hold'em book before reading this one.
