loved Nick Nolte's character and his interaction with each character in Richard Dreyfuss' family. Bought it because each time I see the movie, it never fails to make me laugh. I'm so glad it's on DVD. One of my most viewed and favorite movie. Ir ia cult favorite in my family. I would recommend it to anyone over 18 yrs of age. Loved Nick Nolte, Richard Dreyfuss, and always sexy Bette Midler. What a MILF! loved the family dog, Matisse. Excellent supporting roles by the other actors as well. My rating for this movie between 1 and 19, would be a solid 9.8.

bette midler was sooo funny and little richard and richard dryfess cracked me up. i did not like richard dryfess character cheating on his wife but she did not due her duties either. the maid elizabeth pena's character got on my nerves alot!! his daughter did too, i felt bad for the poor misunderstood son who was gay, but his friends cracked me up alot! i love the movie it aint perfect but it is good enough to own and watach again and angain and again and again over the years
