Y&T Down For The Count - better w/ the passage of time!
I didn't use to like this album, particularly when it first came out. The "pop-metal" sound turned me off, particularly since I considered Y&T to be a hard rocking band. With this release the Y&T dove headfirst into the glam-metal bandwagon (the band picture in the back is cringe-worthy). Having said that, with the passage of time I find that commercial, radio-friendly happy music aside, this CD still is full of high-quality musicianship by the band, and must say I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it again after so many years. This particular version is a Japanese import from 1995 I believe. It sounds a lot warmer than the current remaster and it's not ear-fatiguing at all. If you can't get an original CD issue, the remaster will do just fine. This release was the last one to feature the classic line-up of the band with Leonard Haze on drums.
