Synopsis Defense attorney Paul Madriani has quite a challenge in the eighth legal thriller in which he stars: his close-mouthed client, accused of a high-profile murder, refuses to provide information vital to developing his defense. Only a military marksman could have fired the two closely spaced bullets that killed Madelyn Chapman, head of a company responsible for terrorist-searching software used by the U.S. government. Evidence points to Chapman's former bodyguard and former lover, Army Sergeant Emiliano Ruiz. Madriani realizes that the key to proving Ruiz's innocence concerns seven years missing from Ruiz's resume, but Ruiz won't fill in the necessary details.
