The Goldy's Catering Series Book - Double Shot
Review created: 08/08/09

I started reading this series at the library. This was the only book in the series that I could not find, so I ordered it off ebay. I love the way this author writes; you really start to love the characters. Goldy, the caterer at the heart of all the stories, is definitely not perfect. With all her faults, she is still a great cook and it includes recipes for most of the items she serves in the course of the tale. This book covered the death of her ex-husband (someone I was happy to see go). I learned of his death in the subsequent books but was really looking forward to reading the actual story.
I would really recommend this book and, indeed, the whole series to anyone who likes murder mysteries. It is an easy read so the action moves right along. It should be read in order if possible, although each book is great all alone.

Book Review Double hot by Diane Mott Davidson

Yet one more chapter in the saga of Goldy Schultz, her son Arch, her husband Tom, and family friends such as Julian and Marla. The story is great as usual, but the recipes weren't my favorites. There are some good ones in Dark Tort, and I just got Sweet Revenge, so while I haven't read it yet, the recipe names sound promising.
I've read the whole series, or at least I'm now reasonably current.

I love all of the Goldie books. They are fun and witty just just enough Who-Done-It to keep you thinking! And who doesn't love the recipes???

I have read some of Davidson's books in the past and they were my favorite mystery books. So I bought one of her books and I love it.

This book is as delicious to read as it is to try the recipes. She is a very descriptive of life in Colorado as a busy caterer and amateur sleuth. I have tried several of her recipes and they are wonderful, too. I highly recommend.
