The first I heard of the Minutemen was the song "Corona," the opening chords of which where used as the theme for that MTV show, Jackass. That song is featured on this album, but there's a great wealth of other worthy songs, too. Many consider Double Nickels On The Dime to be the Minutemen's best, a double album of tunes that, individually, rarely clock over the 2 minute mark. Allegedly inspired by news of Husker Du's double album, D. Boon, Mike Watt and George Hurley got together lyrically and musically, providing perhaps their definitive album. Their earlier (and later) stuff is great, too, but there's just something about Double Nickels On The Dime...
