Double Cross by James Patterson (2007, Hardcover)

I purchased this book on a Thursday evening and finished in Friday evening. This is James Patterson at his best. Patterson never one to disappoint has really outdone himself with this latest Alex Cross novel. I was really impressed with how he was able to tie to complete different characters (The Mastermind and the Audience Killer) so well together without losing focus on either of the plot lines. Patterson is truly gifted at writing story after story that keeps his readers gripped from the first chapter. This book should be a definite read for any Patterson fan and also for anyone who is just discovering this wonderful author.

Best book by far? Yes! A thriller that will have you glued to the book until the last page.
Alex Cross, a retired detective is contented with his life, and his relationship with Homicide Detective Brianna Stone means he's never far from the action. Cross finds himself back in the action when a depraved killer throws a woman off the balcony of her D.C. apartment in front of a crowd of stunned people. The murders continue in this same fashion in front of crowds of people so the moniker of "Audience Killer" is attached to this psychopath. Cross and Bree try to stay one step ahead of him but adding to their frustration is the news that "Mastermind," Kyle Craig has just escaped from prison. The media spreads terror throughout the city as the body count rises. Behind all this, Cross believes he is being played in the ultimate double cross. Is he looking at two psychopaths instead of one?

None stop action when Alex Cross is back on the scene. Really loved this book and glad to see Patterson back in true form!

James Patterson has provided his readers with another "fast read". Alex Cross and his background comes out to remind you of how much you enjoyed other Cross books. I would have finished this book in 2 days, but at the last, I continued to read the same paragraph over and over again. Must have been because I was in bed and the clock was past midnight.
You will enjoy this book TODAY !

I agree with what has been written so far about this book, especially the small reminders of times past in the life of Alex Cross.
This book was a true,back to form Patterson. Some of his books almost seem like they were written by someone else.This is the old style Patterson at his best.
I have to admit that by page 20 I had to get up and make sure all the doors in my house were locked. I then read 200 pages before giving up to sleep. It was 2 AM, after all.

I bought this book because I just finished reading The Cross. James Patterson is a great writer and a fast read! This was one of those books you just don't want to put down. Yet, you don't want to finish the book because you want the story to continue. Great book! Love James Patterson!

ONCE AGIAN, JAMES PATTERSON HAS OUTDONE HIMSELF! SOMEHOW HE FINDS NEW WAYS TO MAKE ALEX CROSS'S LIFE BOTH EXCITING AND BELIEVABLE. THE DEPTH OF THIS CHARACTER CONTINUES TO AMAZE ME. THE SHORT CHAPTERS ALSO SEEM TO HELP THE STORY FLY BY. EXCELLENT!

Love the author and read all his books, which is why I bought it. All of his books keep you interested from the beginning to the end. He is an awesome author who knows how to bring you into the moment he is describing. He is my favorite!

Sometimes authors books about series characters get weaker over time. This is not the case with the Alex Cross series. We care about the characters and are always left wanting more. This is no exception. I looked forward to it so much I even bought the book twice!

I think that this book is one of his best. Hard to put down. I read this book at night after going to bed and finished it in 2 nights. If you like James Patterson, this is a must read!

The plot development of Patterson books cant be beat....Characters are endearing and keep the pages turning!

I bought this book and read it in 3 nights...awesome reading. James Patterson is one of the best authors I have found. This book has 2 killers after Alex Cross and 1 killer they didn't catch so you know he will have another book continuing this one. If you like a book you can't put down James Patterson books are the best, I rate all his books number 1 !

That Alex Cross is quite a character, and James Patterson spins stories inside of stories,and makes it all fit.

I loved purchasing this book off of ebay. Was cheaper than buying a new one in the store and this was in perfect condition. You could not even tell that it was used!

I have not had a chance to read the book as of yet. But from my past experience with this authors work I know for a fact that it is very well done!
James Patterson has written another book in the past month as well, That I have already purchased via Half.com. I look forward to reading them both as soon as I finish the sixth Harry Potter book.

My favorite author and the price was right. The book was in better shape than expected. Hardback product at paperback prices. Would recommend seller to anyone.

Of the three Cross books, I liked this one the best. The plot moved along quickly and kept you in suspense til the very end. I felt like I was watching it all in a movie. I just could not put this book down!!

James Patterson is an amazing writer!! I look all of his book and was missing this one from my collection!! Impressed as usual

I felt the book was entertaining. However, the ending was not that great. There was no twist at the end, and I felt the ending did not correlate well with the rest of the book.

This book was most enjoyable. I had read it a couple of years ago and had forgotten. Since it is one of his book, bought it again and read it a second time. I didn't realize that I had the book until I was cataloging my books by James Patterson and discovered I already had it. Now I have two copies of Double Cross. By it was still very enjoyable!
