Movie Description
With her cheerful nature, inquiring mind, and colorful fashion sense, Nickelodeon's adorable bilingual heroine DORA THE EXPLORER has charmed both pre-school-age children and their parents alike. Designed to simulate a computer game, the animated series follows the cute little Latina girl, her monkey pal Boots, and their anthropomorphic cohorts Map and Backpack as they set out on problem-solving adventures that encourage interaction and physical activity while teaching simple concepts such as counting, logic skills, and basic Spanish.       Great for toddlers - but halloween part deceiving!

    My toddler is a huge fan of Dora and with Halloween on the horizon, we decided to purchase this DVD.
    Silly me for assuming a movie called "Dora's Halloween" would be an entire movie about just that - Halloween, I thought it would be an extended Dora adventure and got confused about what exactly was happening with the plot which initially looked spooky and centered around the halloween theme - then seemed to change!! It was only later when I figured out that this was actually one of four episodes, only one of which was about our October fright fest!!
    I do think this is a tad misleading, especially when the cover depicts Halloween - but now I have come to understand that most, if not all Dora DVDs are presented as such!! I still have to give it high marks as my toddler - and lets be honest - in a movie such as this, the children are the judge - seems to love it!
    All the presentations take on the same Dora format as the TV versions and we see all the familiar faces: Boots, Tico, Benny, Swipe. Children love familiarity and they will enjoy watching these fun filled Dora episodes again and again...and may even pick up some Spanish as a bonus!! Your child will love it, so well recommended!
