Door to Door (DVD, 2002)

I love this movie and when I found it for sale I had to buy it! It is a movie that brings tears to your eyes. It has such a good message we even used it for our religion classes.

Talk about determination, patience and persistence! Bill Porter may have cerebral palsy but he has so much more - great sense of humour, sweet spirit and a purpose in life. He may have suffered some hard knocks in life but uses those life lessons and goes door-to-door providing not only a service but an connection with people and precious friendships. Truly inspirational!

Could have done without the occasional swear word.

William H.Macy plays his charchter seemlesly and endears you right from the start. Being this is a true Story of Bill Porter and his drive and determination to overcome his own challenges despite his handicap, the world and what it thinks of him...He forges on and takes you through this story with compasion and a certain tenacity not easily found in people today. Yes, there was a time when the world was a kinder place; perhaps not for long, but for those who lived it, even in those years there were certainly chalenges to face, and daily drama, however the fundamental belife in himself gifted by his mother and obviously obstacles of growing up... he rises victoriuosly based on his principals, not on the flimsy platform of what is a better "career today" attitude. This is a film based on the Human sprit
that lifts you up and makes you want to be a better person no matter who you are. A wonderfull film too often overlooked. We need more "Bill Poters" on earth. Lots of them!

An excellent film based on a true story, but of course I knew that before I bought it. A great why to learn about overcoming disability through "patience and persistence", to achieve your goal and be a success. I saw the film on TV and wanted my wife and kids to see it.

I rented this movie before I bought it. I really like William H. Macy's acting, as well as the central theme of the movie - "patience and persistence." Great movie!

This movie is the best. It is very hard to find, so BUY the dvd... cause you cant find it anywhere on the net and i know where to look. This movie was only aired on tnt. It is hart warming and a great drama about how hard life can be. It shows how to never give up. I enjoyed this movie alot. It is a tear jerker, but has its great happy moments. Read a review about the movie if you want to know more, i am simply puting my input. I loved it and so will you.

William Macy is simply great in a very endearing portrayal of a real life success story. With his mothers support Bill Porter struggled against difficult odds to make it in a tough door to door sales career. While physically challenged Bill was never mentally or physcologically challenged, his spirit prevailed. This movie gives you a lift.

I first saw this movie on TV and was so touched by it, I had to have it on DVD. Such a wonderful story and William Macy is a great actor !! Buy it if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed !!

OMG I am forever happy to finally get this movie... I saw it over 6 years ago on tv ... and fell in love with it... been that long since I have been looking for it... My husband thought I was crazy when i finally won it and was going NUTZ. Until I made him watch it.... :-) Absolutly happy didnt take long at all after sending out money order to get it
