The bleakness often associated with Buffalo was the perfect womb to birth the death-metal veterans Malevolent Creation. Relocating to Florida in the late 1980s, the group helped establish the now-legendary Florida death scene (which also included Deicide, Obituary, and Morbid Angel, among others). DOOMSDAY X is the band's 13th unyieldingly heavy album, with notable special guest guitarist Mick Thompson of Slipknot contributing to the fray.
