Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (PC Games, 2005)

I've been playing doom since it's debut on 1994, im a fan of id softwares, and i have to say, well, playing resurrection of evil, is a must have for everyone who has played doom3. There are really cool effects, the plot has the same style although it changes a little bit.. and our baby, the double-barrel shotgun makes its appearence once again, it's pretty fun! probably the negative side of this is that.. since is just an expansion pack, i hoped to finish it at least in a week, but i did in three days! haha but it's still a lota fun

I am an old Doom player from the old days.I finally built a new computer that would run this game with no problems,The complaints I have with the game is that it takes a very fast computer to run it.I tried the game on Pent 4 2.0 ghz with 400 mhz front side bus and ATI radeon card with 256 mhz ram.The computer would run it but lagged in heavy game play..I know the specs claim that 1.5 ghz and a few cards will run the game..well they are not totaly right.To let you know I build custom Computers and I am not a novice at this.I finally built a Pent 4 with a 3.0 ghz and 533 front side bus,With G Force 256 card.Did some tweaks and now it runs great.This Resurrection expansion pack adds on levels to the original Doom 3 game.So if someone is going to buy and play this game then know what you are getting yourself into and make sure your system will handle it. I liked that he sent it the day that i wanted him to, so i could receive it on my boyfriends birthday. What i didnt like was probably not his fault i bought the wrong one. Not knowing that it was the expansion pack and i needed the first doom 3 in order to play it. Not his fault. Overall it was a good purchase. Thank you very much.

Great expansion to an already great game. I'm about 1/4 through it, and let me tell you the same suspense that was present in the original is definitely present in this expansion. It was a great buy for only $15 or so.

If I was reviewing this game when It came out I would have been more excited about it. I went back to play it just because I felt like I was missing out on a classic. After about 3 hours of play, I went and got the "duct tape mod", which attaches a flashlight to most of your guns. The switching between flashlight and weapons got old real fast. After I was searching a pitch black area and then walls drop to reveal enemies, I was shooting into the darkness not knowing what was going on. I see how they tried to make it scary that way, but it just dosen't work in most situations. I've played about 7 hours of the game now and I'm a little over half way, but I can't bring myself to finish it. It's very monotonous and after the same tricks have been used over and over, you realize its just a grind. The game still looks good compared to todays standards (PC version of course), but the gameplay just isn't there. If your a die hard Doom fan this is up your alley, but if your looking for something more, look elsewhere

I decided to buy doom 3 ROE, because i truely enjoyed the original doom 3. ROE is a master piece it has great sound, graphics, plenty of cool weapons and a variety of enemies. The physics of the game is also very good. The game is very excellent at surprising you with monsters suddenly appearing from trap doors, floors,ceilings etc. The game also has that creepy dark atmosphere that adds to the suspense.

However the game is just too dark at some places and you cannot see the monsters. To truely enjoy ROE i strongly recommend to download the patch that adds a flashlight to the basic weapons in the game.

I love the game, I've always like doom 1-3, but never tried the expansion. The CD worked perfectly and it had minor scratches because of the cd case.

ID games has and always will be one of my favorite creators of FPS games. This title Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is not an exception. The game is well laid out, the graphics are good, and the multiplayer is fun. There is little to no fault I can find on this game.

Great game installs like a dream in Vista and XP hass pretty much the same weapons but new events and creatures many scary...

Doom 3 was a highly enjoyable game and was fun to play over and over again. It was long enough to were i was not able to remember what happened next. This game brings the same to the table with new monsters and new items to play with. Very happy with the outcome of the expansion onto a already great game. Hopefully they will consider going even farther and make a doom 4.

like all the doom family, great graphics, sound, and playability. fewer monsters, but harder to kill. more of the ruined civilization, which gave a
creepier feeling. excellent. also "id" does not require internet setup, or
connection, or joining any kind of orginization. good for doom, keep up the good work.

I decided to buy Doom 3 because my children played Doom in the past. They no longer have their origional game, so they will enjoy sharing this game with their children.

Haven't been able to load from Doom 3. Have it as a mod, but there is some error and it crashes everytime ! From the graphics it looks great, but soon after it bottoms out.

if you have doom 3 the you must buy this for it is awesomness new levels and the mighty double barrel shotgun some killer new multiplayer maps its a must own!!

Excellent expansion to a great game. AND its a few years old, but graphics still look awesome. Now its a lot cheaper and definitely worth buying.

I purchased because I had a flashback of the first Doom game I played on my PS1.

Have yet to play it but it was sold as described and in very good condition.

I think this game is pretty demanding, graphically. I'm using a higher end gpu (ati hd 2600xt) with 1.5 gigs ram and a p4 ht 3.2 mhz cpu. Well the game does not run well with 8x antialiasing at all.... but I can run it smoothly with no AA and everything else maxed (resolution 1280x1024). I know my processor is kinda old and I may need more ram but this game came out a while ago and it still hurts my system :( ah well, the game itself is really fun, I think it has a more creepy level design than the regular doom 3, and that cool weapon you get is a plus (not to mention the other cool ability you gain right off from the start) Well you should enjoy this game, but to max out all settings and be happy with the smoothness of the gameplay you need a pretty high end computer (which is weird cuz this game came out so long ago...)

took forever to get here i like the game it was fun but it took forever to get here won it one week and then waited like 3 weeks to get it. don't know why and i don't care but i like a week or 2 but 3 is way to much and that is why it is not a exelent

The only problem i have with this game is that its shorter compared to the Doom 3... much shorter, thats about it.

Provides more levels and more fun! What else could you ask for?
