The Doom 3 Collector's Edition is a once-in-a-lifetime offer. You probobly can't find this anywhere else. This here has good up-to-date graphics, gameplay features which make it a lot of fun like powerful weapons and backround activity, and since it's a Collector's Edition, it has the original Ultimate Doom and Doom 2. This is very rare and special. If you like first-person shooters, or if you're a hardcore Doom fan, this game is for you.

I bought Doom 3 because I started gaming playing the original Doom years ago and loved it. I finally broke down recently and bought an Xbox 360, mostly to play Doom 3. I bought the limited edition because I liked the idea of having the metal case for it and because the limited edition wasn't really that much more than the regular edition. I like Doom 3 because all of the levels are updated and more realistic. I was somewhat disappointed in Doom 3 because it seemed like I was doing the same thing over and over; running around and shooting different creatures. Some of the features were kind of annoying. For example, the flashlight feature needed some work. I ended up buying Quake 4 because it was specifically made for Xbox 360 and because a lot of the annoying features from Doom 3 were fixed. It still seems a little boring, though. I guess too much online and multiplayer gaming over the years has ruined me towards 1st person shooters. If I had played Doom 3 years ago, however, I would have been thrilled. I defintitely feel it is a good game overall and at less than $20 bucks it is a classic at a bargain price.

The Good
-Creepy atmosphere & well done sound effects
-Awesome graphics
-Lots of weapons to choose from but nothing beats the Chainsaw!!! (except maybe the BFG)
-Classic Doom included the disc & all of the cheat codes work
-Awesome online co-op mode that takes you right through the action-packed heart of the game (if only it were split-screen though)
-Multiplayer is decent but host advantage takes all fun out of it unless of course you're the host
-The sprint button is a nice a addition

The Bad
-Slow action at times
-Too many times where you have to use the PDA interrupts the gameplay
-Host advantage on multiplayer

The Verdict
Must have for horror fans & Doom fans alike. For everyone else this is a fun rental. Kiddies should stay far, far away.

I love this game. I mean, there are some downfalls, for example: if you have your flashlight out and a monster jumps out, you have to put your flashlight away to be able to shoot it. Which makes it completely dark and you can barely see anything. But, that is the only downfall. I think the coolest thing about it though, is that the first and second original doom games are on it. To be honest, the original doom games are the main reason I bought it. But, this is an excellent game

Great addition to a classic series of games.
Plenty of new stuff but plenty of things to remind us slightly older people about the game we played on our 133mHz computers before Pentium was a real well known name.

It is an ok game but I didnt expected to be that stupid. First of all the limited collectors edition you cant play two players, which means if you and your friend want play it together this wouldnt be the right game for you. Just buy it if you desprately needed.

I grew up with doom, heretic, quake, wolfenstein, and all the others. So when I heard this was coming out I was stoked. I never played the pc version so I can't compair them but the xbox collectors edition looked and played wonderful. The graphics are awsome although sometimes close up textures may look a tid bit blocky. The mood never seemed out of step. There is so many dark rooms to creep through with your finger ready to pull the trigger button. Opening a door to a demon leaping at you will keep you on your guard. Anyone that likes first person shooters should give it a try. Its a game you likely won't forget.

I never got the item. The seller sent tracking info after I reported the incident but after a month, good luck finding a lost package. If the seller provided the tracking info at time of shipment, I would have stood a better chance of getting my package. PayPal guarantee is a joke.

I got the game because i liked playing it when i was younger, i believe it was the original doom that came out for just the computer but i could be wrong, but i had that version and loved playing, and i recently decided i wanted to play and found it for the xbox so i got it on ebay and low and behold it's finally come time for me to play it again haha.

This game is great. It still holds up today. who knows how many games copied this format. Graphics are still pretty good even by today's standards. Plu, this come with classic doom and ultimate doom.

Doom 3: Limited Collectors Edition is a very fun game to play. It is also a very scary game with creepy enemies and environments. The game also includes Ultimate Doom and Doom 2. Like I said before, Doom 3 will creep you out!!!

This game came out for the original Xbox and now that it's compatible with Xbox 360, you should buy it. If you're a fan of First Person Shooters, this is a great game to own but make sure you get the "Limited Collector's Edition" as it also contains 2 full versions of the classic games, Doom 2 and Ultimate Doom as bonus features on the disk. Doom 3 is a great game. While the story line isn't that great, the creepy-ness factor certainly is. Play this alone....in the dark...and expect to jump out of your seat a few times. Monsters come out of the shadows in the darkened Mars Research Facility you're exploring when you least expect it and the contrast between light and dark in the game is very strong, expect to use your flashlight....often. But that just adds to the vibe of the game as does the ambient noise in the game. Take my word for it, this is a scary game. And after having played Xbox 360 games for about 2 1/2 years now, I can honestly say that the graphics of this Xbox game aren't that far off. They hold up pretty well when compared to other games like Condemned or Bioshock.
Doom 3 has the perfect mix of FPS and puzzle-solving. You'll need to find keys to open doors, access computers and find hidden corridors...but it's not tedious enough to make you give up and play something else. The puzzles are challenging but they don't take away from the game and as you venture further into the depths of Hell, it just gets better....and scarier.

Give this a try. You can find it for about $15 and it's definitely worth playing. Especially if you're a gamer on a budget during this tough economic times.

Loved all Doom's, Ultimate/Final/2. Used to play them on the PC and just got a 360 and wanted to check it out. good game, kept me going for a while in places, but overall enjoyable to complete. makes me wonder whats next - looking 4ward to doom 4 - may try out halo 3 while waiting though...

Just the latest release form the game that started the first person shooter setup. Turn the lights off and play after watching a scary movie, it's great :-)

Doom 3 is definitely one of the best original Xbox titles I have ever had the pleasure of destroying. Visually this game rivals many 360 titles I have played (SD of course) and the storyline is present, (along with the creep factor. quite dark and scary) but does not overpower the gameplay. Gameplay, I might add, is quite engaging, and the difficulty settings make it everyone's game. Factor in the Collector's Edition's bonus features, and the playable ULTIMATE DOOM, and DOOM 2: SHORES OF HELL that you find under the extras section, and you have the complete Doom experience on one disc. I own a 360 and a variety of current titles, but still come back to this one frequently. Highly recommended.

The game is great, The graphics are great, It truely is a doom game. Not to be played in the dark alone. You can watch it its not bad but man when you play the graphics are so good it just sucks you in and makes you feel like you are there and things pop out at you alot.

This is the best game ever developed. I, my son, and my grandson all play this until our fingers hurt.

I bought this game because I had previously played Doom and this was supposed to be the third in the series. It is the exact same game as the first in the series, so was quite disappointing in that respect, however it is a good game and I enjoyed re-playing it.

Good graphics for an original xbox game. Pretty cool story line, although ammo is very hard to come by. Has the original doom and doom 2 games as well, so that was awesome going back and playing those again. You can also do deathmatch. Overall a pretty good game.
