I enjoy watching movies with my toddler...some she gets excited about, me less so; others I look forward to - and this was one of those movies!! I grew up in the UK and enjoyed 'The Magic Roundabout" a beloved children's classic, and much later a cult show! Doogal is adapted from this cartoon and features all the same characters so I was interested in seeing this and sharing part of my childhood with her.....alas, this movie did not live up to my expectations and my toddler quickly went back to her Lego!!
Initially my familiarity with the orginal show and the long list of stars that lend their voices to this movie - Jimmy Fallon, Whoopie Goldberg, William, H. Macy and the funny Jon Stewart - promised good things..but the movie just missed one key element - a good hook to draw the audience in !
Sure, the movie had a premise - Doogal has a mission to complete in order to save his friends - and indeed the world against the spells of the evil Zeebad who has resurfaced and is out to cause strife. We, as the audience follow Doogal on this mission, but this is where we started to lose interest! The plot struggled, and often got sidetracked. It seemed to repeat itself in some areas ...and forget what the movie was about in others, to the point where we all switched off and did not care about the ending which was predictable!
Maybe someone out there will enjoy this movie, but for us, it was not well thought out and did not engage us so for that, I have to give it a poor rating!

Doogal is adorable, it truly is. I adore Whoopie! She rocks and does fantastic job with all her children's themed creations. There are a few scene's I'm not crazy about, like the skeletons that attack and the fight between the good and evil springs but other then that it's really adorable. As a matter of fact, my four year old just came up to me and said "They are messing with the wrong bunny!" (from the movie... they do love it). As far as my twins go it's FOUR THUMBS UP MOM!! I'll give them that. They do have great taste! LOL Enjoy it!!

My daughter is in LOVE with the Doogal movie & it was $20 at any local store so we looked online & got a MUCH better deal for alot less on ebay! It wasn't brand new but our daughter didn't know the differnce!

I rented this movie first before buying. My son absolutely loved it. We watched it over and over and over again. Since he liked it so much I bought it. If you can buy it on ebay for such a lower price why spend $20 at Walmart?

My kids love this movieMy 2 sons love this movie. The cast is great and adults will laugh too. We are going on a long car drive and this was my 6 year olds first choice for what he wanted to watch in the car.

Just for the Kids...If you are looking for a movie to enjoy with your kids, this isn't it. If you want a movie that your kid will most likely enjoy and give you time to do something, this might be the one. The music is pretty good but it doesn't have the story legs that many receent releases have had. Good luck!

This was a surprise animated movie. Turns out it rivals Disneys in many respects. The gold cast of actors and actresses voices for the characters was great. The plot of the story was clean and interesting, keeping the viewers' attention. The storyline of good vs. bad was well written and very funny in parts. Hadn't heard of it before seeing it on Ebay that I can recall. But seeing the reviews, thought it would be a good addition to our child's library, and it certainly is.

Doogal - the movieI already have a copy which my grandson watched while with us in December last. He loved the movie so much that I bought a copy for him. For my wife and I, formerly residents of the U.K., the movie brought back fond memories of a child hood program called "Magic Roundabaout". All the characters in the movie were from the T.V. program. Great movie, and there needs to be more.

Doogal 2006, DVDThis movie is a bit weird but it's cute and has funny things in it that us adults get. My son LOVES this movie!!! I'm not much for letting him watch tv a lot but when I put this movie on he will sit on the couch the whole time and not move!!! I just don't get it he is only 2 years old (just turned 2 that is)... So because he loves this movie so much I bought it. And Im sure it will get a lot of use.

Great Childs MovieMy daughter loves the movie, she was only 7 months when we purchased it held her attention for a long time. We first watched this movie on Comcast and decided to buy it. Although she does love it there are a few things about it I do not like. I feel like some of the parts are a bit out of line for children but nonetheless, it is a cute film.

Great Family Movie - all can watchI really like this movie for my 3 and 4 year olds. Some of the jokes are above their heads, but not at all inappropriate - my husband and I can share laughs too. For example when Jimmy Fallon's character says "My Precious" about finding the diamond.

O.K. For The Really YoungNot much of a story....but for someone really young..3 or 4 years it's O.K. It has some really cute parts in it but a little scary character can make a young child not like the movie in a few parts. Overall, it's an alright movie if ya get a good price on it!

I purchased Doogal for my daughter. She loves animated movies. This movie was so cute. The clumsy dog (Doogal) accidentally creates a world of trouble. But, him and his flawed friends manage to save the day. It proves that heart and spirit rise above physical strength and evil. I give this movie 5 stars. My children enjoy it and I loved watching it with them. Highly recommended!!!
