Fitting

Okay I got it for the same reason everyone who owns a copy did; I grew up on this man's music, and after all the years of good times and good tunes, it was the least I could do. I was surprised to find an older, slightly bitter but still hopeful for the future, Joey belting it out over what really are solid music arrangements. There are moments when he steps out of his comfort zone vocally, and it really speaks for the intimacy you feel in the album's tone. He is embellished by a who's who of friends and fellow musicians, and it really has a different feel than Ramones stuff(though similar, don't get me wrong). There are moments in the album when you can sense his illness(though he never let you hear it in his voice, which sounded great), and there is a "social commentary" side to the record.
The album is not, however, without its filler material and weak spots. I would dare to say some of the recordings were not complete when Joey died. All in all, buy the album, because Joey Ramone rocked till he died! Gabba Gabba Hey!
